I'm still not sure about public cloud but it is hard to not want to use it for some workloads that aren't sensitive.

I sure wish is was simple... Our commvault solution we've standardized is anything but simple lol! It has so many knobs and levers on it that it's crazy how many setting there are.

We sure put some serious digital hardware on some of the vehicles and can tell you that... the MRAPs - Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles sure have a LOT! Basically driving around in a vehicle with at least 3 different networks on it all linked by some line of sight or satcom coms.

I've found that monitoring databases can really put additional load onto the said database if you aren't careful. DPA is supposed to do this without generating as much load as Insight for SQL does I've heard.

This is pretty imprortant the jump from 6.1 to 6.2 for SAM and the jump from NPM 11.0.1 to later 11.x versions with web based alerts is non-trivial. I've been interested in the new functionality but haven't been initially wanting to risk losing some depended on alerting for one.

Performance analysis isn't easy if you want to make it really scientific. I think it takes investing more time than many want to apply to it.

We do this all the time and monitor many sensors on different platforms. It's a big part of the software engineering we do.

Also SSD don't function exactly like spinning disk's do... some utilities we'd normally use with spinning disks are actually not good for SDD.
