This is also why I always buy Google Nexus phones (I have the 6P right now) and will be getting the new Google Pixel 2 when it comes out around October this year. Google pushes security patches to their nexus and pixel devices every single month. Also android updates go out for Nexus and Pixel before anything else. With…

I like some of the stuff you've done on your website. Lots of good vitualization stuff you've made your way through. We use Solar Winds Virtualization Manager along with the vmware vcloud tools. We also use SW NPM and have our modules integrated together. Our network management of the virtual environment is made easier…

Deaf people may not be able to hear but they can still feel all the lower frequencies through their bodies. I've even heard of blind people being able to see to a degree with sound by making clicks and listening to the reflected sound coming back... to me this is pretty amazing... kinda like how Ben Affleck in Daredevil…

I just tried on different browser edge vs chrome and it allowed me to get to the end of the survey!

I guess you can fry just about anything now... even Coke somehow!!! Here's my cool link for the day and the cool logo that goes with the team for US offensive Cyber Security: Air Force Extends the Development of its Cyber Mission Platform -- Defense Systems 91ST CYBERSPACE OPERATIONS SQUADRON > 24th Air Force > Display And…

For all those that can't get the video to run... it's only fair.

Geesh that's kinda scary!

I try to accomplish as much as I can without having to rely on traps all. Basically proactive device polling instead.

It looks like one day and now they're saying there will be 15 events in different places... please come to Phoenix!!! I think you were here Bob for two days in Phoenix if I remember correctly. Confusing the main page says one day April 9, 2025 | In-Person and the link to the event says: Wed, Apr 9, 6:00 AM - Thu, Apr 10,…

The frame TV looks pretty cool... I was looking at ultra short throw projectors but now that 85" TV's are around and bigger... so many choices in TV's now. OLED seems to finally be coming down in price as well.

I absolutely feel what you're saying. We have the same problem too with managers thinking they can get away with taking some chances to save money. As long as the worst never happens that's ok... but when it does it's like you said... they picked a better provider but it's still putting all the eggs in one basket.

I think he's just learning Maria that's all! It all makes more sense after using the tools for a while and without a doubt I'd have had many more problems without everyone here at thwack helping me! The community is great!

Nice to hear some people still support their local firefighters and law enforcement population. They do, after all, save and protect people... which seems to me to be a pretty good idea to support!
-
Yes I read the whole thing! It's nice to know there are some other ISC2 people on thwack too!

Yep one thing wasn't there but in reading the one thing that's not there you'd think it would apply to a product like this. Well people even if it makes sense don't select the one answer that's NOT in the hint.

I think it always starts on Monday's. I wanna see who wins the 4th week and Grand Prize for this mission? Could it be you?

I'm 100% in agreement it's time to dump Oracle all together. I was a big fan and proponent of SUN but Oracle killed SUN. This also means coming up with a substitute for Java. Linux is quickly replacing the remaining Solaris I have around... soon it will be good bye Oracle!

Sticking with Scoob in round 2!!!!!

SNMP isn't going anywhere but...The one thing I DO see is snmpv3 becoming more mandatory... which if you've used it can sometimes be a real pain in the @$$ if you get my drift... I guess the more we use the better we'll be at it. I'm sure NCM can help get those configs straight across the enterprise which should help!

A LOT is going on with AI research in the defense industry right now. We have some exciting new technology coming and it'll be fun to work on projects that use these new tools! The downside to AI is that it's also now beginning to be used by adversary countries and hacking groups. o.O SkyNet will eventually be semi real I…

NCM would be a good module to get training for and it's not like it's new or anything... I've found it to be difficult to understand at first. I did find an intro to NCM on demand class in there at least.

I do the exact same thing Thomas! I destroy my old hard drives. You should see what they do with the ones from work... the security people save them up for a while then a few times a year they go to place where they put all the stuff into a furnace and they have to witness the destruction. All of this is tracked and…

I had to do the same thing designerfx as our content filtering was blocking bunchball and labeling it as "chat." I had to put in request to unblock as well.

Wow that was 15 years ago o.O! Bill

I wonder if the new Distributed Common Ground System will be one of the first areas we see this in the DoD? Distributed Common Ground System - Wikipedia

Another amazing thing about netflix... it runs everything out of AWS and they keep very little of their own IT infrastructure.

The smaller systems are one thing... Cisco Telepresence requires it's own entire network with trained people to support it... pretty crazy but it sure is neat! Having decent QOS is a big part of the battle if your have an limits in pipe size.
