Christmas time fun! I like the holidays woohoo!

I live in Scottsdale AZ... and work not far from where you went to school at ASU. I'm sure you probably know already that DanielleH also went to ASU. I went to school in Ohio... go Buckeyes! Down with Michigan!!!

Goto work for a Defense Contractor and be interested in successfully solving problems... you'll never want for new stuff to work on again! In fact you may find yourself doing more than two or three jobs!
-
So true... I've seen the same thing over and over again. One thing is 100% for sure... Cisco isn't going away anytime soon. I saw it with 3Com (and the IBM rebranded 3Com switches), Cabletron (remember them?) and so many more in big and small ways.

Pretty much that's it... We are using more and more Palo Alto and less and less ASA's now. Although I still have 80+ ASA's.
-
I'll have to look up that radix @"network_defender" . We use Security Center aka ACAS for scanning these days. We tried using a product for windows/linux call SteelCloud with some success to remediate automatically but it's not cheap. Every quarter it's new STIG's and new changes on way or another. I found a publicly…

Tougher one Aug. 14th. I got it but pulling the trigger wasn't easy!

A very good list which we follow mostly to a tee... it's hard work really securing data and it's a constant ongoing process... you are never finished.
-
Wow we've been stuck with commvault for a few years now too... ugh.
-
Some of these same fools also drink unpasteurized milk too!

It's going to be 115 F here in Phoenix desert... also it only goes down to around 95 F at night.

I had even hooked up a big 6" vacuum tube to the back of the arm saw so it would collect all the wood flying back into it. They rock for doing nice cuts at different angles. Crazy thing the vacuum was this HUGE box about 3 feet square I bought used. It sounded like an air conditioner on a house when it started up! It moved…

I'm not 100% sure about this be we found on one busy database the AppInsight for SQL pushed it over the edge and the DBA's begged me to turn it off... which was kinda a bummer. I don't know if it's true but they claim DPA doesn't cause a large additional load on the database but I can't confirm this.

I'm with jeremymayfield... this was pretty straight up... the video listed 3.

It would be great to see better connection between Orion and Remedy!!! My guess is a LOT of people use Remedy.
-
My Nexus 6P finally just died (the battery) as well. I got a Pixel XL 2 right when they came out. I'm holding off on the 3 for now but leaving my options open. We'll get most of the software exclusive to the 3 in a couple months... we're already on Pie anyhow. Google gave us all two years of warranty replacement on the XL…

Liars figure and figures lie.

Ok I found a slightly better hint and I still wasn't 100% sure but pulled the trigger and got it right. Whew! docs.microsoft.com/.../sql-server-integration-services Bill

Or green belt, black belt, or master black belt! I think I first did ITIL training back in the late 90's.

I'm actually glad there isn't a bunch of trick questions in this round. I'm way more busy now than normal since so many people are working from home. I have people contacting me all the time hey Bill I'm not in the office today and "working from home" could you help me do X? It's insane! What a bonus right? I'm being a…

The CISSP is even worse... it doesn't matter what you know about security and your background with security. You have to study their bodies of knowledge to have even a hope of passing the test and even then many fail.
-
We really don't have any choice... much of it is mandated by RMF.
-
Not yet... the pi either. I figure sometime soon maybe.
-
I saw that certified bear resistant lol!
-
Of all of the various angles on security DB is one area I'm definitely not an expert by any means.
-
Yeah I've seen virtualized SQL that can cause all kinds of problems too... from my experience anything that negatively effects that database and it'll cause a world of hurt!
-
I actually don't disagree at this point. I may work on getting less syslog sent to Orion since it doesn't seem to handle it very well a leave it to splunk.

This is good stuff I've been wondering if SCM now also linux capable may be able to help STIG windows and linux. It seems to have promise! Bill
