Yep these ARE the hardest of all.

Don't feel bad... I didn't see it either even after looking a few times.

The internet got along fine before the big hand of Government decided to get involved. You can understand why some broadband providers don't like not being able to control their own networks... look at what netflix does using 50%+ of the bandwidth of the entire internet in the US during evening hours. I'm not one to think…

I get that too Jfrazier people trying to refute the Orion data sometimes.
-
IDK if I've really thought devops or hybrid cloud is much different than what's been going on for over a decade... it's just new names for things we were already doing to some degree already. Sure there are more service providers out in the "cloud" but really what's changed?

We were representing at Cisco Live too! SolarWinds had a HUGE operation there!
-
This license refresh I'm adding a bunch of additional virt manager license!

I didn't even see this until it went up in recent on the site. I think we're all family IT experts since it's our job. I'm going to be installing a new Motorola cable modem that's 32 x 8 for Mom and Dad today. Then a new wireless router with AC and AD wireless for the family.

Between the new agents and AD discovery integration SAM is definitely getting some great improvements. Especially for the NT Server team type guys this is going to make a lot more sense to them is my guess!
-
Mini Mission two months in a row! This is kinda weird one product is a SIEM SaaS offering and the other is a German made windows server install application that used to be called 8MAN.
-
It's no surprise that if the authorities are looking for someone (like the bomber in TX) the first place the go when they know who it is is guess where... Google!
-
Nessus works well for this... also NCM compliance reports for network device configurations.

LOLOL dude in a 404 suit!

Another bad sign for Oracle and the future of Solaris! Oracle Reportedly Laying Off More Solaris & ZFS Staff - Phoronix
-
some kinds of apps like travel booking are just better as SAAS... concur is a perfect example
-
It really wouldn't be a new object type... just limiting the normal web report to one resource and calling it something new. This wouldn't take much work really. We really aren't talking about two different things.
-
It's really not even if but when and how you handle it when it happens. Tmobile was pretty good in how they handled it... within hours of disocovering they had reported it to the FBI and notified everyone publicly.
-
You know you can always get 30 day licenses whenever you want if it's just to see if something is going to work for a few weeks... I know that may not be ideal but I've done it before more than once.

Too much information is a death knell for monitoring period. It makes finding any accurate data a needle in a haystack and it's nothing but bad bad bad!
-
Seems good to me Josh!

-
They need to make more William Gibson books into movies I think.
-
LOL just goes to show... I'm still trying to even get rid of the last windows 2008R2 and we have 2019 now! o.O
-
I wish you were coming to PHX SWUG Thomas!
-
I wonder if putting too many eggs in AWS basket is really a good idea? The JEDI contract comes to mind.
-
Very happy to see the thwack pack this time!!!!
-
Yep and the govcloud 2.0 here in the USA is probably in a similar situation is my guess... They're finding out not having control over the infrastructure has some real downside and that the "cloud" isn't performing the way it was promised.

I'm currently using netflow on 6513 most recently to determine the volume and geographic location of multiple users of a large enterprise application. We knew how many user accounts there were in different places.... what we didn't know for sure was how much they each were using and exactly where the power users were.…

We keep custom dashboard up on HUGE screen 83" hanging on the wall that shows all the critical issues we have going on in our environment. Feeding some critical alerts into splunk and then correlating the data between Orion, Help Desk Tickets, and log events we can highlight where lights are flashing RED in more than one…

Lol that's funny there were a LOT of them in that little area!
