Gotta thin the heard a little right... ;^}

You're right about most of that ik... I have to say the FireSight is pretty great. Cisco has never had a graphical GUI like this before. It has a LOT of functionality like never before. Our newer linux based Cisco Routers can even run a IPDS module inside them now... it'll be sweet having true IPDS at every WAN router all…

Oh yes... the POAM ;^}

Seems that way to me as well... it's a real bummer for all the old Sun fanatics for sure.

I've really noticed this with Google. I'll search for something my girlfriend asks me about like some new shoes that available and she wants to know if I like them... then next thing you know I've got floating adds in Google Assistant searches for the exact brand of shoes! I love my android auto... it's the coolest new car…

Wow that sound interesting byrona. We have recently bought VMware NSX to go with Vcloud Enterprise. Much of the same kinds of orchestration you are referring to we can do inside the Vcloud suite... now with NSX we'll have the entire network layers also virtualized and more software defined. Things like security contexts…

It's a challenge for sure! We have our own internal AI that you can choose one of 4 models to run against but it's all hosted in the "cloud" which doesn't help me a lot except reading from one monitor to find data to use on another that's on an air gapped network. Don't get me wrong but this often means hand jamming a lot…

I sometimes swap SNMP and SMTP @"ChrystalT" lol! N and M are pretty close on the keyboard too! I'm always into this... I hope you all come to Phoenix again for a SWUG soon again! Last year it was pretty epic.
-
See ya there in Phoenix! Bill

I still think yesterdays question was totally wrong... one of the answers in it is totally NOT a rogue device in the apparently correct answers.
-
This also bothers me and I can't believe you can't use groups in alert logic? I remember when we added groups to Orion. This has been a pain point for many for a long time.
-
I've had some issues with this actually. For example trying to "right size" my vm's that run Orion so close that as we add more nodes and features I end up running into performance problems and have to show them and get more cpu or memory. I've had to do this multiple times in the past few years. I've essentially ran into…

The NASA rocket kit is pretty sweet looking... reminds me of the old plastic rockets we pumped up with water in them and launched. Those were hard plastic and didn't have a soft rubber bumper on them. There also wasn't a tilt disable like these to prevent you from launching them horizontal! Bill

At least the feds are giving some spectrum back to the public recently.
-
This was pretty important information for us to get back to using Orion again and current patch levels.
-
I second bobmarley I went for years without SAM and when I finally got it I can't imagine how I lived without it. I remember the old APM as well... that dates back to the old thwack website.
-
It was a bad one. :^}

We're on it! We seem more on track now that we got past the tftp debacle ;^} Thanks for all your work on this Maria!

Been using ITIL since around 1999 I think it was... that was when Remedy was a company of less than 20 people! At the time working for GE and got my green belt six sigma. It those days they used to give you a real green or black belt. Remedy was one of the first helpdesk tools that fully was built around ITIL. This was…

Wow nice!

LOL I didn't know that song was out there Killa DBA!

Some decent solarwinds tools to help with this...
-
Or use this link lawbar90 linked that has it too GDPR – What is it and how can SolarWinds help? The answer is in there.
-
You and me both geesh!

Uh hello... there's a reason we don't take phones into areas and they have to remain locked up. No transmitters are permitted so this is kinda a ridiculous idea that won't work in the US at least. Also many rooms are Tempest so it's essentially a Faraday cage the entire room. The virus hasn't affected me at all. I've been…

DanielleH posts them a little while after the weeks completed... it's a manual process.

I'm a real fan of the space program public and private and I'm really glad to hear we're going to get some more use out of the hubble. It really is a game changer.
-
Applying the various neural net architectures to solve new problems is where we're at right now... we're finally getting some real problems to apply them to and do some IRAD's ie. investing real money and doing real science.

God knows I've got enough people I've worked for here that still all think I work for them... even though I don't lol! Oh and they all try to schedule meetings all day long too which doesn't help. Nothing like meetings all day and never doing any real work... And I rarely RTFM! Much less the instructions. (one exception is…
