I do definitely know cobrien and Dez! They both came to both our PHX SWUG's. I really enjoyed cobrien technical explanation about developing NetPath... it was really interesting to learn about how some of the patented internal stuff works and what it took to figure out. It was much more involved than I think most people…

Leon gets to go to all the good shows.

Also as the number of virtual machines multiply like rabbits these sysadmins will have the need to manage, patch, and maintain perhaps 10's of thousands of machines/tunnels (vxlan anyone?) or more. The current and passing method of doing things manually one at a time isn't going to be possible.

Good to hear it worked for you as I'm still on Orion Core 2012.2.2, SAM 5.5.0, NPM 10.4.2, NTA 3.11.0, IVIM 1.5.0 and was waiting for a little more time to pass... I'm really wondering how the new reporting that's coming in 10.6 is going to effect all the old reporting and some customizations.

I really appreciate this info Joshua... this will really help!
-
It's working fine now. I just answered with the check boxes and it's good.

Exactly and someone else might pay the bill with their life if there's really something important on the phone!

One thing I noticed since I originally attached my thwack account to my customer portal during beta... now everytime I want to login to my customer portal it asks me to link my thwack account but I already did. When I try and do it again I get some token error or something. Not a big deal. I just tried to replicate it but…

We're neck deep in RMF and I work with the Navy... it's been busy to say the least. RMF has totally changed warfare.

The big publicised security breaches by insiders like manning, snowden, and others have really caused many of us addition grief.
-
Precisely why I'm working on CEH now that I've had my CISSP for while. It'll just about cover the full DoD Security certification chart:

I'm still pissed about the OPM breach!
-
This movie was totally awesome! It opened our eyes to things we could see coming!

So true that many of these perils are avoidable. I think we're moving closer to getting it right these days. Maintenance of the datacenter is extremely important too... are the batteries still good in the HUGE UPS... are the belts on the blower for cooling unit moving air across the water from the chilller still good?

That great news Richard... I think I'm finally ready to take the plunge and hearing from people like you that it went alright is a HUGE plus!
-
Geesh people want it just handed to them o.O! LOL gotta have some questions to weed out a few people here and there! I've missed questions before and I sorta know what I'm doing. So Jfrazier you going for the fridge, cornhole, or still saving for the table? I'm kinda kiddin' but it is a learning experience about the…

I like the prizes this month! Bill The headphones are always nice to have and I think I may order one of those hover pens because it looks like something I'll use to get ink all over my pants somehow lol but it could be like fidget thing for me at my desk!!! Also who doesn't like retro coffee makers and they also make…

I can understand that... I work on some air gapped networks so public anything is out of the question.

Thomas has had MVP for like 10 years in a row or something Jfrazier I think he has like some little tower thing that has one ring for each year he's been an MVP o.O!
-
Good idea since with windows this is often the solution for half of the problems.
-
There's no substitute for good people on the team period.

That was pretty cute Wendy!

Will there be any other MVP's at Cisco Live in Vegas in June? If so see you there!
-
On one of my airgapped networks I've decided to dump using vmware and am now using just windows 2016 server instead. It's taking a little getting used to but it'll be less stuff to patch and I can let WSUS take care of everything.

Silent signals hum, Packets flow, unseen they tell, Guardians at watch.

Seems like it might be good idea to setup a perfstack for each of your most important enterprise applications perhaps.
-
Bottom line is at some point some people have to be "trusted." So trust but verify then. Also background investigations don't hurt either... lol! The ramifications of what happened recently at the OPM with not encrypting and allowing the data loose they did may be felt for generations to come here in the US. I hope the FBI…
