Between 800-53, and now 800-171 we've got a lot of controls now! LEM and now SEM helps with many of the continuous monitoring aspects of the STIG's.

A crooked MS employee... how does that not surprise me?

The good news is with streaming and bigger pipes on the internet... cable tv and satellite aren't the only choices anymore. If we don't like something no one is forcing anyone to buy it.

I live in the 5th largest and look both the 5th and 7th have gained many people... look at the cities that have lost the most people. Seems like high taxes and worsening business environment is making people relocate.

Life is fleeting and terminal... we all know that. However it's never easy to see someone we've known and spent a lot of time around pass. The labs will be different now without him... he sure made his mark on us all and that's good and how we should remember him. He made the lab more fun to learn in.

Luckily MicroSoft has come to the rescue with a new tool. This new tool is called LAPS aka local admin password tool and it automatically updates the local admin passwords on each machine to be unique, extremely complex and updates it in Active Directory. It's actually a fairly elegant solution to a new requirement they…

This seems like a good idea... I've had issues with doing most maps in NPM. I wish atlas had more of the features the stand alone product has.

The good thing about that which I also do sometimes is it's available on every windows system. The Screen Hunter free I use is nice because you can select any part of the screen and it can be saved in multiple formats to a file. With screenshot you get the whole screen which sometimes you might not want... also Screen…

I'm psyched about what NSX is going to do going forward. Virtual everything contexts that follow the VM's around with major increased reliability, availability, and security.

I've had some experiences with databases which aren't all fun... I'm definitely an accidental DBA 4sure!

Office Space is funny but... The Matrix is game changer. I still think War Games is gonna take it ALL! That movie had huge effect on my life. My dial up modem ran 24x7 connecting all over the world and at 300 baud it was a slow process filling up those 5.25" floppies.

We used to use 3270 terminal software on PC's to replace the dumb terminals for mainframe connectivity while I was working for Toyota years ago... I don't miss that stuff.

That "Daddy" part toward the end of the movie was just heart breaking for sure. It'll be interesting to see where the X-men story movie franchise goes next???

Another thing that works well for us we use powerbroker instead of sudo... it logs all sessions command line... NO one logs in as root (except administrators as last resort and it's hand logged each time) they all login as themselves and then powerbroker to root.

The one thing I noticed... which isn't bad or good per se... thwack seems longer ie. taller vertically now. Things are spaced out more between lines and content ie. maybe more white space??? IDK does anyone else notice something like this??? It could be just me? Some things have a little more delay maybe but it's minor...…
