Also I suppose it's possible you might have gotten a corrupt download of the installer somehow. I'd try re-downloading the installer just to rule that out.

This is exactly the kind of thing I was afraid of when voicing my concern about going directly to the web without leaving the app around for at least a little while... oh well. This is why I still haven't upgraded despite wanting some of the other new features and updates. Has anyone tried using the app from the previous…

You could setup a new historical interface traffic report something like this: This will show all that were over 90% tx or rx in past 7 days summarized by the hour.
-
This is the max amount of time during db maintenance that it will spend expiring IP flows at one time.

I too am interested in what I'm going to have to go through to upgrade from NPM 9.5SP2 to 9.5.1... could it really be as easy as just running the setup from uncompressed folder on NPM machine?
-
I'm a little confused about what you are trying to do. What exactly is your use case? NPM does the polling and handles updating the database with information about the devices you add or discover. Maybe if you can explain a little more clearly what you are trying to accomplish the community will be more than happy to do…

You're talking about the Search box in Manage Nodes is that correct? If so you mean in addition to Name, IP Address, and Status I'm guessing...
-
Have you gone into system manager and looked at how your advanced alerts are configured? You can look at some of the predefined ones and any alert trigger can be made to do an action to write to the event log. The trigger action will be NetPerfMon: Whatever you want it to say and any ${variable} you want to pass

I think most people are still running 9.5 plus some service pack... the latest is 9.5.1... also I assume as long as you are on current support your product would be supported. Also if your product is new for 1 year from date of purchase. I'm not sure about EOC but I'm sure it's a similar situation.

Maybe I'm not understanding something I use HTTPS on standard port for all my NPM installs from the start. I have virtualized everything even the SQL servers (which by the way work great these days, though half the SAM defaults for SQL server out of the box sure don't apply to virtualized SQL Servers but that's another…

Let us know anyone that does the release candidate if it resolves a bunch of stuff... I'm sitting on Orion Platform 2014.2.1, SAM 6.1.1, QoE 1.0, NCM 7.3.2, NPM 11.0.1, NTA 4.1.0, IVIM 1.10.0 for now until I hear a little more good news... 11.5.2 sounded like a huge improvement over 11.5.1 for sure!
-
I thought upgrading to 11.5.2 or the new RC fixed most of these problems with 11.5.1 without having to mess with hotfixes or workarounds?
-
Nice summaries everyone. This kind of information is priceless! Bill

Any other new awesome Orion home pages... it's been a while since we did this??? We're in the process of greatly expanding our SW installation and this always give me some new ideas when people post what they've been doing with their homepages and network atlas... so new people or old POST POST POST!

The weather map live icons is great. I for one would love to see more examples of what people have done.

One problem I have with the resource is UnDP I added to track NetApp filer shares that fill up to 100%... the problem is when one huge filer fills up I get like 100 active alerts for every share on the entire filer! 100's of these at once has a way of shutting out other important things... I have alert notifications for…

When or how did you start getting this?
-
You could add it to the content exchange under NPM customizations and extensions: http://thwack.com/media/g/orion_custom_views__orion_nodeinterface_views/default.aspx Still not sure exactly what you've done but it looks promising
-
You can get a lot of the pieces of the report you are asking for but as it stands now not directly from one report I don't think. You can't read from this about a long term enhancement SolarWinds is working on: Endpoint-centric Traffic Analysis Resources - ability to see traffic analysis data related to a specific Orion…

Sound like something similar to what the windows event log does after an event repeats for so long... they are suppressed for x amount of time.
-
What version are you running?
-
You go into Advanced Alert Manager from the Orion Program group under Alerting, Reporting, Mapping... then goto view configured alerts... inside each alert you configure trigger actions and one of them can be Send Email/Page. This is where you put the smtp address for the specific alert.
-
Looks like a webserver with a database on it. The zabbix is an opensource monitoring tool.
-
We always monitor nscd process because it's one that when it dies causes all kinds of problems.
-
Curious what version are you running? Your problem sounds like a real hassle and something I'm sure everyone would like to avoid.

This link may help a little: Orion Additional Polling Engine and Modules -- What do I buy for modules...Nothing because it’s now free!

I think I found it: You can set a custom sysobjID

I think you answered your own question... I guess the problem is how to get net-snmp to report a different machine type instead of the generic net-snmp??? Someone had to have figured this out before... I'd be interested in hearing how myself.
-
Also why is this not bumping up in the recent activity under NPM forum? I've posted twice on this and it's not showing up in the recent activity under the NPM Product Forum???? Test... it's still not bumping up into recent content under NPM forum... I'm thinking people really need to see this so they don't get burned by…

So wait a second! Are you telling me NPM doesn't work with latest updates from MS??? If this is so I'm going to have to request that our main NPM instances don't get patched and what specifically from latest patch tuesday updates do I NOT want to install??? Are we saying it's mainly just the .NET 4.6.1 update that's…
