Have you gone into system manager and looked at how your advanced alerts are configured? You can look at some of the predefined ones and any alert trigger can be made to do an action to write to the event log. The trigger action will be NetPerfMon: Whatever you want it to say and any ${variable} you want to pass

I think most people are still running 9.5 plus some service pack... the latest is 9.5.1... also I assume as long as you are on current support your product would be supported. Sound like something similar to what the windows event log does after an event repeats for so long... they are suppressed for x amount of time.

What version are you running?

You go into Advanced Alert Manager from the Orion Program group under Alerting, Reporting, Mapping... then goto view configured alerts... inside each alert you configure trigger actions and one of them can be Send Email/Page. This is where you put the smtp address for the specific alert.
