That's exactly what I've been doing... I change the 2's to 0 and it's all good but it's a pain to have to do it that way.
-
I'm game too as I'm for the first time installing and in process of configuring LEM1000 right now. LEM has a lot more things you need to configure to get it working the way need I've found out. It's not hard per se but it's not like using NPM either.

The remote works like this: remote {copy} [\\computer] [NirCmd command] Executes NirCmd command in a remote computer. if {copy} parameter is specified, NirCmd will copy itself to the Windows directory of the remote machine. You must specify this parameter if NirCmd doesn't exist in the Windows directory of the remote…

Are the other boxes ESX3.5? and only the one not working version 4?

This may help you get a better alert setup on state to alert on: BGP OSPF and EIGRP Advance Alert You could create a report that's on a page listing them all...

Nothing is perfect but I will say when we redid our entire WAN after joining two business units into one we redid our entire naming standard and it's helped immensely with grouping in Orion.
-
Aliases also help if you change the names of some servers... people can still use the old names if they want to.
-
Sometimes it takes a little while to get enough data to start graphing too...

I'm in the same boat as pastraa I have virtualization manager in production and we have not integrated it on purpose. I'll upload ss of the info from the actual product in production.

It's relatively small volume less than 10 devices syslog. We're going to try it again this time not running it on a windows 2012R2 DC and instead on windows 10 client machine.

Those are great Mark... all true.
-
Also lchance is correct... here's what I would do though I think the mib you want is already in SolarWinds as you see in my previous post people have been doing this for while already with 6500 switchfabric/backplane: * First check that you have installed the latest MIB database available for Orion. * Login to the Customer…

A couple others we use are: Detect USB - Send email if file is copied to USB. (works with windows machines that have the USB-Defender loaded) We also have a tools we made for when people do any DTA Data Transfers. It logs to a custom log we created and we created a rule that alerts on the tools use. We alert when a…

You could poll the snmp OID for these: https://www.iana.org/assignments/ianamau-mib/ianamau-mib IANAifJackType ::= TEXTUAL-CONVENTION STATUS current DESCRIPTION "Common enumeration values for repeater and interface MAU jack types. This data type is used as the syntax of the ifJackType and rpJackType objects in the…

This is awesome news Byron!!! I'm definitely tired of the you don't know how vCenter collects the data and your data is wrong argument. You were definitely not crazy!!!

That's good Will... I can't even get syslog service to run under Windows 2012 R2... EMET won't allow the service to run... My partner here James T. has a case open on it 999667. I'm going to keep your registry setting handy in case I ever figure this out. My problem is everything logs to syslog as part of our security…

I can't figure out how to get the new KPI Widget on the new Dashboard? I deleted one two or three spaces in the existing Dashboard and when I click on *New KPI Widget* all it says is customize I can't the Create Widget button to come up so I can add it to my HTML5 dashboard. Has anyone figured out how to put the KPI Widget…

We LOVE our VMAN! Bill

Yes you can using the net-snmp on Solaris and there are SAM application templates for Solaris stuff. We're monitoring Solaris 10 and 11 with NPM and SAM. The basic stuff is response time, packet loss, CPU, Memory, network latency and packet loss, all your disk volumes. With SAM you can add kinds of things and can monitor…

I'd search for events with info that matches the IPS and any parts of the event that was flagged to look for other related information. The nDepth search is pretty powerful once you learn a little about how it works but even freefrom text just typed in with some names or IP's can find a LOT. Bill

I'm running 2020.2.1 and next to compatibility in vCenter it says ESXi 5.0 and later VM Version 8 is that what you mean? I know VMware is on 15 now.

I can't be the only person using two factor authentication with PKI and tokens right? Bill
-
There has to be more users than me that want SEM to work with CAC or PKI tokens? We can't find any documentation that explains how to get it to work? We want 2 factor SEM! Bill
-
I almost commented about SEM 2020.2.1 without thinking until I read a little closer! I used to know the products by the version numbers. Bill
-
This looks great! Does this mean we can customize connectors? We've had an issue: Is there a way to add or remove specific event IDs from being collected? We need “307” to be audited which is print logs. I’ve tried everything and these events will not send to SEM despite showing up on the local host event log. Bill
-
This is great... really should be an option in the Orion interface though perhaps! Bill

When walking around the MIB on these infoblox I found that using the old UnDP tool actually helped because I could just click around the OID's after I found the main area for the InfoBlox MIB I was interested in. Once you can figure out the OID's it's pretty easy. This is how I made many of my UnDP's. Bill
-
Interesting... reminds me a LOT of the new SEM dashboards thanks to the UX team Ashley and others!
-
If you know the MIB OID's your looking for then you could create a Universal Device Poller that will show the status under node details for the node.
-
If you rediscover the node does this still stay this way? Click on rediscover under node details for then node then list the resources and make sure only the current disks are selected. This can also be automated but you can test it this way.
