I don't think there's a problem with that. You could add an independent label: To add an independent label:1. Click the Home tab.2. Click Add Label in the Labels group. A label is added to the map. and use variables in the format ${variablename} in the labels according to the following thread Josh makes it sound like the…

Thanks for sharing that Adam. I wish more people would share the workarounds here.

I'm using Windows 2012R2 right now.

The AZ Solarwinds upgrade is finally complete. My initial outage window estimate of eight hours on Friday was a bit off since it actually took from 0800 Friday until 0400 on Sunday morning (total 44 hours, btw). The problem was that there were both a lot of steps and that these steps took a long time to complete. In fact,…

Hopefully that'll make some of my upgrades easier then... it's really all about getting off windows 2008R2 and older SQL Server version VM's for everyone now that product doesn't support them anymore.

Fixed issues This hotfix addresses the following issues: * Disabled subnets were being scanned * Subnet scanning hanged * IPAM options missing in Centralized Settings * User could not add DHCP and DNS server on additional poller Environment * IPAM 4.6 Notes * This hotfix is located at your SolarWinds Customer Portal * This…

Maybe check with viol8tor here in thwack... he seems to be pretty good with SQL stuff from what I've seen.
-
I've see that before too... when the storage under our SQL server has a LUN problem... was difficult to track it down the first time. Is your SQL server database online on responding ok?
-
I'm not an expert with this but can't the windows server be configured to log this information about IIS logins into the event logs on the server... in the security log? Here's a reference to the types of logon messages: http://www.windowsecurity.com/articles/Logon-Types.html Also here's some good IIS LogFiles/Reporting…

Thanks I was almost thinking I need to get my unique appliance root password from support just so I can figure out why /usr/local is growing. I don't even have very complex rules or anything yet. I'm on 6.4 right now.

From my experience always bring NPM up to date with the core orion services first... the upgrade planner in the customer portal is really your friend with this... it's even better than trying to follow the old guides. Also as I said run the permissions checker to make sure all of the permissions are correct for everything.

Geeze man the guy has the whole O'reilly library up on the web... http://docstore.mik.ua/orelly/

People have done a work around for this by for example setting the server to a specific timezone. Then creating a custom property of each device and putting the + or - from servers timezone in the property. Then when sending alerts taking the time plus or minus the number from the custom property. It's a little bit of pain…

@bwilkins Cisco is kinda tight on compatibility matrix with different vpn devices and software that works correctly with the ASA 5500 series. Not sure if you've seen it but this might help: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/asa/compatibility/asa-vpn-compatibility.html

Good Luck... let us know how it goes... :}

Also does the test fire on the alert send an email? Do you have other alerts already sending emails that work? Have you verified there's nothing being blocked by firewall in the full path?
-
This contains some more newer examples :^}

Really cool... always glad to see more of what people are doing with their pages :}

Here's a list of the main ones I think I have running right now: SERVICE_NAME: OrionModuleEngine DISPLAY_NAME: SolarWinds Orion Module Engine TYPE : 10 WIN32_OWN_PROCESS STATE : 4 RUNNING (STOPPABLE,NOT_PAUSABLE,ACCEPTS_SHUTDOWN) WIN32_EXIT_CODE : 0 (0x0) SERVICE_EXIT_CODE : 0 (0x0) CHECKPOINT : 0x0 WAIT_HINT : 0x0…

as njoylif said in the view you create (or an existing one... click on customize page) you just add the report as a resource... after you add it to view when you goto the view there will be a link there you click on to select the report you want to add there.

Sorry mine has to have so much cover-up... but...

Have you tried going to Admin in web interface and changing the color scheme under customize?

Sounds like the DHCP assigned address has changed for that host since the netflow data was captured by NTA and added to the databasse. How long are leases lasting assigned by DHCP? If they have very short leases and the machines are getting new IP's there are going to be changing IP's for each host in DNS. Over time…

This is good to know... what is this patch all about and does it show up in the customer portal with the hotfixes and stuff??? I really don't like the sound of this. I've requested that our Orion server not have those patches applied for now.

I think alterego was saying if you have SAM AppInsightForExchange does everything you'd ever want to know about exchange.
-
That's pretty funny gb :}

Sure you can by adding some additional filters... this is a pic from another post but fits the kind of time or day filter that you would also want to add to the report... use the Day or Week or Time of Day part of the filter... it takes a little practice but the more you work with report writer the easier it gets. It's not…

Weird I've never had a problem before. I have two proxies on different h/w. Can't seem to get chat on either... I'll have to work on that.
