New responsibilities! Tell us more about this... you'll be missed as a good SAM PM aLTeReGo Welcome Steven.

Download the updated MIB database from the customer portal then follow instructions readme : This update to the MIB database includes the latest standard vendor MIBs, along with those supplied by SolarWinds customers previous to the above build date. The following products take advantage of the MIB database: Orion Network…

How do I clear it up easily? Does the hotfix help fix this problem from continuing then as well? I can basically delete all of the rows from this table then?
-
Yup that'd be one heck of poller... :}
-
Thanks for updating!
-
If you can use an english version of the OS it should fix the problem. Hopefully that's not too much of a problem for you since right now SolarWinds doesn't officially support Japanese yet.
-
One thing you can do is use snmpv3 for security and then even block ICMP because it's not secure and only allow snmp... then when polling select snmp status polling vs. the default ICMP under list resources in manage node.
-
There's the web console setting under Admin menu Page Refresh which defaults to 5 minutes... also see this thread for more information:
-
Also if you find out you had a problem with dns resolving the names for you and add a hosts file or another dns entry on your server to get it working... force a rediscovery on those nodes and it should update with the names.

I don't know much about IBM SAN but my experience primarily EMC Symmetrix on the 10K switches... the performance awsome... and depending on configuration better than many local disk arrays... now NAS on the other hand... not always so good. My SolarWinds configuration pales in size to some of yours though.
-
I just tried ${AlertTriggerTime} and it doesn't work for node for me either.
-
Wow that's crazy... every time I read these I get more and more paranoid about updating.
-
nice little router snmp view manipulation sedmo :} snmp-server view To create or update a view entry, use the snmp-server view command in global configuration mode. To remove the specified Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) server view entry, use the no form of this command. snmp-server view view-name oid-tree…
-
Sure enough... I just tried it and same thing happens for me on NPMv10RC3.

From the way things have changed recently it seems that SolarWinds like many companies are transforming the application into a more web-centric application. But, as you know, everything still can't be accomplished from the web interface alone. The network atlas is a perfect example. I'm not sure that becoming a web…
-
Didn't think of this at first... overlooked the filter resource being usable in the node tree.
-
Wow this seems almost like something else could be wrong or for some reason the hotfix didn't work correctly because, luckily, HF6 totally fixed my problem. I'm wondering if opening a ticket might be the only solution at this point which to me is very frustrating... I know for me now I still have three modules that want to…

Click on the title above the gauges or interface view you want and it will open in a new window. Then copy the link from the browser at top of browser where the URL's are. Paste this into the custom html Miscellaneous resource box and it will add it to your custom view.
-
While true I usually stay at least one version back from the latest... call me paranoid.
-
This makes me think they are running an outdated unsupported system then.
-
nice one larry... it escaped me that you could make the filters on alerts view stick...
-
Another thing you could try but doesn't explain why this is happening is try .gif vs. .jpg or vice versa and see if that makes a difference. Just load your background image in an image editor and save it as a different image type, use that as your background and see if it makes a difference.
-
You might also get some clues to what's happening by looking at the event logs on the server itsself. Also make sure that something like a host firewall isn't causing the issue.
-
And is in the process of being fixed not not... sorry.
-
I agree someone did a workaround mod which adds a icon that links to an web based ssh client on a machine which would possibly work for you... see: ?PageIndex=2 This way you would only have to add the one ssh client to the ACL I believe.
-
We still use ASA's but have recently moved a lot to Palo Alto too. It does everything basically. You order which ever features you want. Also the proxying it does is inline and transparent for web proxy.
-
I'm still digging into the capabilities of this extension... there's even extensions built for the extension :} I'm even finding bugs in some of the NPM already :P
-
First I don't see how either of the two SW's applications could be called an Application Programmers Interface. To me a an API is a published list of function calls that can be used by programmers for direct interface to a products underlying functions. As far as I know SolarWinds doesn't offer an API. @lchance I actually…

One way is to use an snmp agent on the server. A free one is net-snmp. Another option is to forward the event logs as syslog messages to orion. Solarwinds has one: http://solarwinds.s3.amazonaws.com/solarwinds/Release/Components/LogForwarder-v1.zip Log Forwarder for Windows can be installed on your Windows servers and will…
