There's a report in Contect Exchange with custom SQL for duration which is a good start if you're into SQL: SELECT StartTime.EventTime, Nodes.Caption, Nodes.Location, StartTime.Message, DATEDIFF(Mi, StartTime.EventTime, (SELECT TOP 1 EventTime FROM Events AS Endtime WHERE EndTime.EventTime > StartTime.EventTime AND…

I concur Mustafa... as you can see I too have been patiently waiting for this functionality. It's been a long time coming but I think we'll all find that more and more this will be necessary for monitoring many things as icmp is just too much of a risk in that it can be used as a covert channel.

For those that want to know where to change this it works like this: Manage -> Appliances click on the gear wheel and select connectors search for mail to find Email Active Response click gear next to Email Active Response and stop the connector click gear again and Edit Now change the transport protocol in the drop…

This is all a recent development Message Queuing (MSMQ) wasn't even part of the product until fairly recently (well recently to me since I've been using it almost since the Orion product was acquired by SW)... I didn't say it couldn't be done just that until recently it wasn't even an option. I'm sure many of us here would…

Well you can tell by mine I have huge monitors but 900+ active alerts are never going to fit... for me I'd like to be able to filter the main resource with a filter by default.

Very good information!!!

Lol like a second job... hehe!

Nice we learned a new trick ?debug

So I guess unless you've got a tool like: http://www.red-gate.com/products/ants_performance_profiler/index.htm then maybe the old way of disabling/taking off one resource at a time to determine which one is taking the longest time processing might be the only method unless it's obvious while watching the page update.

It took me a few months... eventually out of necessity.

Wow this is really good info aLTeReGo... I've avoided monitoring some things due to being unable to do with least privilege.
-
One point is for sure... it's going to have to run on a different server than your NPM instance's machine. EDIT: I suppose if you have multiple pollers then they could monitor and report on each other.
-
I've done basically the same thing is the past but using atlas became such a pain to use in keeping them up to date I eventually just took them down. I have like 70 remote sites now.

I love these always... thanks so much for sharing!

Anyone else have a good homepage???

The Samsung actually have better write speed... although it's kinda close.

Andrew- Yeah we have the version the questions were like mine above: I too am interested in what I'm going to have to go through to upgrade from NPM 9.5SP2 to 9.5.1... could it really be as easy as just running the setup from uncompressed folder on NPM machine? Or is there going to be a whole lot more than that involved???…

Awe that's too bad the Firesight works great once you set it all up! I'm using the FireSight VM on ESXi 6!

Wow the new NCM features sound awesome!!!

I just dug up this SAM monitor... I couldn't see it in SAM already even on the community tab but I did find it when searching thwack and am trying it on an ASA now. I'm thinking I may also not be seeing a lot either like you wbrown I wonder if it's the version I'm on too this one is 9.1(2)? I suppose it could be that some…

Woohoo I'm back in the saddle again!!!

Is your SQL database running also in the same VM? People have had real issues with running the SQL server from in a VM. The database server from my experience really needs a real machine but everything else from what I've heard and seen can be on a VM.

If the IP's your seeing in the trap aren't the ones you expect it might be something else doing the polling besides NPM since the trap is throwing on another IP than the one you have configured for the node in NPM. I hope that makes sense. :^}

Keep us posted on how it goes!

These is great alterego... the report is awesome too! I'm curious what the Threshold Operator value is all about and for? It looks like it's usually 0 or sometimes 1,2, or 4 from what I've seen on the report. I'm just trying to understand what it is.
-
I'm glad you got this resolved. Sometimes fellow thwack members actually have knowledge that even support may not be able to piece together. I've had my own issues with kiwi syslog server myself. I could never get the service to stay running on windows2012R2 domain controller that was STIG'd. I may go back and try again.…

Yeah it went on last night and now my imports are completing and hopefully I can run for a few weeks without having to reboot the vm and/or stop/start all of the services!

What's the A in CA stand for?

Until you drink so much for so many days in the morning without eating enough and you almost gut yourself! Otherwise I love coffee and drink it every day.

Wow that's kinda bad.
