You all psyched for the virtual SWUG Wednesday? I've been to a few SWUG's here in Phoenix it'll be interesting to see what it's like on Wednesday. It won't be the same without @"ChrystalT" in person though!

Many of us have had our jobs made much worse by these leaks from 3 letter agencies. Everything is "insider threat" now which only makes us doing our jobs more stressful and difficult. Snowden needs to be put in prison for the rest of his life! If this was the 1700's you know what they did to traitors back then right? I…

SC Magazine is nice too. I love Krebs as well! Also I've found many security related network people tend to not be the most social and many are introverts.
-
LOL that's hilarious!

This was a special case and did require some clarification. I appreciate Wendy giving people a second chance because the question was just one of those that probably shouldn't have been on the challenge this month. I also think it's great how everyone collaborates on helping each other to understand what's going on and how…

Totally... it's brought some of our DB's down almost.

Seems AI and ML is the answer to everything these days... except it isn't.

Yup SAM I have and LOVE! AppInsight for SQL is good but I have found you need to be careful because it does put some additional load on the SQL server so if it's already overloaded... be careful right? It's good though and since I already have SAM it's my only option. I do like that they added most expensive queries to the…

I'm in the middle of DSS audits this week! So it's line by line going through STIG after STIG after STIG!
-
I need this too... I'll never have any of that work on some of my networks either for the same reason as CourtesyIT!!!
-
Same this is BS... I typed something in the box... I typed ecklerwr1 completed the survey and it said wrong!

I've found when working in closed area networks that since there are only a handful of people to do everything you have to know all the technology. Some team members are better with some than others... of course. I do monitoring, storage, networking, windows, unix/linux, security, and supervise and mentor all at the same…

Hehe the first thought that came to mind was that with those guests speakers at the event... you know the software can't be cheap. For one thing none of the Bush's do many of these kinds of events at all so that's pretty rare to begin with. I'm glad SolarWinds was mentioned in there.

This is what I've been trying to tell people... splunk is great if you know regex like the back of your hand and have the time to create all the queries... if you aren't a regex expert it's a non trivial thing setting it all up.

It is an awesome shirt!

I have to agree!

Bring me a bucket!

For me one thing my 1970 Schwinn Stingray bike with monkey bars and banana seat for one! I had the single speed one, reverse pedal brakes and no shifter or disc brakes. Mine was red though like the green one on the right. Like this one... this is a 1972 one. Oh and I still wear Adidas Superstars to this day!!! Mine did had…
