If you're ever wanting every AV software developer to all have a new virus just run it through virustotal... It used to be that hackers used it see if their new exploits could fool all the AV engines... well the AV companies all use the data on the stuff that passes through virustotal now to update their engines.

Like that PHX SWUG badge.

Yep RMF is making all information systems on DoD networks a lot more complicated recently.
-
And if you are going to impliment this why not do the same exact thing for groups right???

We unmanage some devices but not all... only ones we know for sure are ok to have not monitored during patching. 100% availability isn't the be all end all for us.

Seems like a good article for mirroring of the new SCM module!

The process is better than it used to be for sure. My situation is always complicated by everything being offline and disconnected from the outside world.

All that's missing is DISA, DSS, NISPOM, CCRI, and soon RMF. I always twinge a little when I see DSS in respect to PCI... it has a WHOLE different meaning to us!

I kinda feel the same way... look how long it's taken for ASA Insight!

Maybe it was just newer... I got this one last year and found it to be so big I had to order a larger enclosed rack for it. It's 1U but it's like 30" long o.O! The old ACS servers we had were like 22" deep.
-
Nah that's not it...

AppInsight for SQL helps with this but it does take some resources on the SQL server to serve the data I've found out.

Yes this could be a solution for our NIPR/SIPR stuffs but for enterprise unclassified we use our own.
-
Under new rules in RMF... training is a requirement not an option. If you don't have people trained on the technology and in many cases certified in them then you can't pass the audit.

It seems like the main solarwinds.com website is down right now... I can get to thwack but not the hint for today or even solarwinds.com I can see the solarwinds icon in the browser tab but it says This page can't be displayed. Maybe I'll wait a little while then try... could be something on my end I think ugh.

As long as the Chicoms keep pumping out super cheap iot devices with default passwords people never change we may all be in trouble! An example of what could happen are some of those NIC's that were being produced... and sold in Dell servers which had drivers that were calling home to China o.O... I think stuff like this…

We own our own dropbox like filesharing application as well. It works basically almost exactly like dropbox does and emails links etc. It's worked well and I've yet to hear of any big issues. It's called MOVEit by Ipswitch.

In an effort to stop the spread of coronavirus, all TCP connections are being converted to UDP to eliminate handshakes.
