This came to mind while reading this today:

I hate the spammers! It's ridiculous what some of these people will do... For some reason today everything I've posted is being moderated now... I had thought that had gone away but it must be getting pretty bad sounds like. I feel your pain mrs.alterego

wow it won't let me post the word k r a u t. Anyhow I love sourkraut. The pork and k r a u t is great stuff!

I think it sound like a good name for the labs... I think many of us ask ourselves that just about every day in the morning! If it we me, here where I work, I'd use the term "we" instead of "you" or "I" but perhaps we wouldn't work for this...
-
Don't get me wrong I still try to use traceroute and ping but since >50% of devices won't respond and firewall block... it's often useless.
-
On another weird MS note... MS just acquired github! Microsoft buys GitHub for $7.5 billion: Why it matters for open source - Axios
-
I'm dealing with the same thing with SRM right now... I have a TON of NAS's and SAN's with ridiculous number of disks... some are smaller fast disks or SSD's spread out to make it more parallel. This also makes licensing an issue. Seems you'd be better off buying larger disks if this is how it's going to be licensed?

I like the mission this month... good stuff! Bill

Booyah!!!

Jfrazier Come to think of it... we make that some sort of network! https://gdmissionsystems.com/c4isr/warfighter-information-network-tactical-win-t/
-
That's crazy about the users using the same terms so much.
-
C. I. A. is it Radioteacher!!! I also scan, update/patch and remediate and scan some more.
-
Event correlation is an art NOT a science which is part of the reason doing it well is so difficult and done well often complicated.
-
See you soon in lab.solarwinds.com!
-
That's what we used to say about the Network Topology Mapper and NPM! I gave up on that a couple years ago... hey at least we've got ASA support coming to NPM and we all love the NetPath. I'm still waiting to use in production but I've played around with it. The new ASA stuff I've seen coming soon is gonna be HUGE!!!
-
Did you see you can get the bean bag chair in Ivory Shag!!! BBill

Also switching everything over RMF aka Risk Management Framework and starting STIG all DoD Information Systems. RMF is going to make all of our jobs more complicated and for a while hectic!
-
Also you don't have to be on latest version to get to Deployment health... the last couple versions has had it.
-
On an interesting note... our friends in Austin can now get two hour delivery from whole foods thanks to Amazon Prime: Amazon to deliver Whole Foods groceries via Prime Now

Nuclear energy is good energy. I would think that a modern day plant would be many times more efficient and safe hopefully. As far as data goes I think often overlooked is that sometimes it's in our best interest to actually get rid of it.

How about some tuning tips for vcloud SQLServer vm's? Lately as I've gotten more elements on some pollers the SQL server is becoming a weaker link... I'll start getting messages like: Service was unable to open new database connection when requested. SqlException: A connection was successfully established with the server,…

Yeah that was kinda a trick I almost fell for it. You got the right idea the key was the NOT. I can't believe I've been a mission master before... I've blown a few this year for sure!
-
Managing all the traffic on the network going to amazon, bestbuy, and Target today will be a challenge. Using netflow and QOS has helped some!
-
I agree... my problem with some of the open source solutions and openstack is when you are running your most important apps on them... what do you do when something doesn't work or a patch breaks everything... post in a newgroup or dig through wiki's or worse the source on git looking for commit comments?
-
I agree about the how badly the intrusion might be... One big change we made is we no longer have shared local admin accounts on every machine any longer. Each machine has it's own unique ladmin. There are free tools from MS that make this much easier.

Lol yeah 50% off at Walgreens lololol!
