All points are being considered and are all appreciated. I may even try to see if just receiving an snmp traps for power supply alarms is the way to go. We do have a syslog server but I run it on a separate VM server as of now. I probably need to revisit every device and adjust the logging level since they are all set to…

I just finished creating a map, added 9 objects which represent all the cities where I have offices. For each office I created a seperate map in a standard topology design etc.. In the parent map I dropped each city map into their respected city object (basically a nested map) and everything looks fine. I downed a link on…

I modified my settings in Trap Viewer and it looks like I'm starting to receive traps with the IP and Hostname in my email alerts. I am noticing that it's not working for all devices and those that it's not working for are in DNS (via nslookup from IP to name and from name to IP). Can you provide more details on how to…

Can you send me the exact URL that you're using (of course omitting out any password info), as I tried to get this to trigger and it doesn't seem to be working. I duplicated my bgpPeerState poller, assigned it to one node and set the tripper to equal number status 6. I get a standard email and also see the alert in the…

I have a related fan status issue, so I though I would add it to this thread instead of creating a new one. I have a poller setup to monitor the status of all my fan, fan trays etc..When I go to assign the poller to a node, I test the poller against the node prior to adding it to ensure it is working properly. The poller…

Chris, I have been tring to get this working since migrating to NPM v10. We use traps for the bulk of our monitoring in conjunction with advanced alerts. The main reason is to get an email the instance a link/interface goes down. Syslog's is a whole other story that's not worth getting into . Specific to this quote "Orion…

The problem isn't with one PS devices vs 2 PS devices. The way I have the poller and alerting setup, everything works fine for say 3750E switches, 6500 switches w/ dual PS etc...The problem is with the 3745 and 3845 specifically where the AUX -48v DC power supply PORTS that have nothing connected to them are reporting the…

I upgraded from 10.1 to 10.1.1 with both Hotfix 1 and Hotfix 2. This issue still exists and I have opened a case to have this investigated. Anyone else having this issue or had it and applied a fix???

I am about to apply hotfix 2 to NPM running 10.1.1 with hotfix 1 already and wanted to know the outcome of your issue. Can you provide any additional details to your problem and if this has been resolved? Thanks, Dave

The fix was a code upgrade on the WLC to 7.3.112.0.. I need to upgrade this again to 7.4 as we just started to see a large amount of traps for "Client with MAC address xx.xx.xx.xx.xx.xx has joined profile DDDDDD" for every device that connects. This is only happening on the WLC that we have were we enabled FlexConnect.…

a really quick way to do this is right from the main NCM page on the Quick Start tab and click on the Execute Command Scripts. Add all the nodes that you want and in the "Command Script to execute" area type in the following: show run | i logging This may produce some additional logging information but gives you what…

Can you share with me the UnDP and what you do to obtain the number of BGP prefixes? I need to setup a poller for all my WAN interfaces in my MPLS cloud as we just had a situation where BGP was no but receiving no routes. Any and all infor would be appreciated.
