I've just discovered that my DBA's have access to every config in NCM, although the storage has encryption at rest and the database uses encryption anyone with access to the database tables has access to the configs. There is an extra column in the table called 'Hash' so it looks like the option may be able or the database…

Was about to raise a new FR for this and found this one in a search. Calling tdanner and KMSigma on this one for there input Looking for a verb to at least be able to switch from ICMP to SNMP V2/V3 and vice versa. We receive large numbers of new nodes that need to be monitored for up/down initially until firewall rules…

Any news on this? We are due to upgrade to London next weekend so need to think about workarounds etc.

Was today supposed to be a multi select rather than a which one of the four?
-
Solarwinds day is the 20th so the team most likely created a shorter mission so they can focus their energy on the event.

Looks like Q3 should be assigned to this poll
-
The video in Day 8's question.... OMG that is getting shared to so many people i know right now, so much for getting some work done today.

I upgraded to 4.8.1 a few days ago and like you have spotted different behaviours in this version that i wasn't expecting. IPAM 4.8 - Can't edit custom property value when IP is available
-
red tape and politics is my biggest challenge
-
Totally agree, the question implies you are answering what command you need to run rather than what the command does.
-
Love this idea! So many times i have to create a local account and replicate the permissions and views just to see what something looks like, the potential for an administrator to troubleshoot user issues is enormous!

Same, paging DanielleH to check if we are genuinely getting it wrong or there is a problem

We developed a workaround for this using a SWIS, SNMPGet and a powershell script to pull it all together. The script works like this: Using SWIS retrieve a list of polling engines and the nodes being monitored For each node: Compile the SNMPget command string For each polling engine: Run the SNMPGet command string and…

Sure, can't seem to attach the file so take the below and save it as a .poller file <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <Poller xmlns:i="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns="http://schemas.solarwinds.com/2008/DeviceStudio"> <PollerID>00d13022-f6a6-496e-9570-efa85eed3446</PollerID>…

Nice, who do i need to kill to make sure i win this one?
-
I logged a ticket for this a while back, it blew the tech's mind and he couldn't recreate the issue in his lab so the ticket fell flat. The last response i got was to clear my .net and browser cache, would love to see this sorted once and for all.

Agree on Q8

Go to your profile and click on the lifetime points numbers, it's a link and shows you how you earned your points.

I have a few meetings to juggle so will have it on mute on and off, don't have the luxury of blocking out my calendar to watch it all live

Jobs lost counter, where did you find this?
-
thanks Tony, are you aware of a workaround or patch becoming available?
-
Same, we have an alert to look for SNMP polling not responding and it looks that the Last SystemUpTimePoll and also the last discovery time. We are seeing the last discovery time freeze and have to restart the services or the server to get everything to come back. Glad to see i'm not alone and hopefully a fix comes out…

i had something similar but not the same, Found there was a user account inside the database called "Reporting" that was missing select permissions. Granted this and my issues cleared up.
-
is it possible yes but does the permission model and bad use of GUI real estate makes it a no, we tried it and gave up as managing permissions was just to fiddly.
-
I have a similar issue although for me the agent restarts when the server comes online but report "unable to connect to agent" unless i restart the agent service again. All my agents are at the latest version and servers are rebooted every month regardless of patching or not.
-
Same for me, thought it was because of the way i was updating my MIB.CFG file but switched to the official method and still get it. Doesn't appear to affect anything so i just ignored it.

Sad to see you go but happy to see you getting ready to start your next chapter. Thank you for everything you have done for the community, for us your loyal subjects and for the wider IT community. The legend Yum Darling you will be missed by us all.

So many silo's of tools and platforms is our biggest challenge, some are run by different teams for different purposes so coordinating access to these adds time and red tape to any request for data.
-
it looks scary but it is pretty simple, if you are unsure log a ticket with support and they can help you through it as with anything it can do serious damage to your installation. Always take a backup etc etc :)
