If you are upgrading from 5.6 or higher, there is nothing to be done from a licensing perspective. The Admin Guide for 5.7 will go live on the web when the product is released, but there is nothing that needs to be done from a user perspective that is different from 5.6 in regards to your query.

Hi babayaga, Unfortunately, due to the increasingly uncertain future of Blackberry as a viable platform, native Blackberry 10 HANDSET (Z10/Q10/etc.) support is no longer on the roadmap for MA. As Blackberry (the company) refocuses on its enterprise services platform, we will definitely look at future opportunities to allow…

Hi cdekort, Yeah, that looks like an oversight on the "Storage Array EMC VNX/CLARiiON: Physical Disks" report. I've pass on this item to Engineering to investigate correcting in a future release. In general, the Storage Array reports should not be used and are being deprecated in future releases. They are there for…

Hi Marcus, Have you configured virtualization monitoring inside of Storage Manager?
-
Took a little convincing on my part ;-) We'll get it sorted.
-
Hi Jake, Is this an unmanaged ESXi host (i.e. not under a vCenter)? Was it setup on Orion to Poll directly and through vCenter on VMAN? If so, did the Sync Wizard not prompt you to address that? I'd like to know if we have a product correction needed here.
-
Alex, The screen you are showing is for Orion, not for Virtualization Manager. TonyM - Currently, following JR's comment is the best way to go. We are working on solving this for the next version of VMAN with the Orion integration.
-
Hi sconder, I'm assuming you want to monitor the actual logical volume in the Guest and not the VHD or VHDX file itself? If so, it's best to monitor those with SAM via WMI or SNMP.
-
Hi tmiller_hockey, We should have you covered with the new Orion Storage module + VMAN that is soon to be released. We will tie together your storage from the NetApp to the Hyper-V environment if you are monitoring NetApp with the Orion module and Hyper-V with VMAN and have the Orion integration turned on. SRM will trend…

Have you evaluated Storage Manager for it's SnapMirror monitoring capabilities? You can find the SnapMirror monitor in the left hand navigation pane underneath "Monitors" - SolarWinds - Storage Manager

Hi univadmin, First, let me announce that the iOS 7-compatible MA client should be live on the App Store within the next 24 hours. For users in the Beta program, this is the same version of the client that they have been validating and everything looks good, so no need to update. When we have the official 8.1 release,…
-
Anyone having issues on iOS 7 can register for the Beta. Also, there is a healthy discussion of the Beta going on in the Beta subgroup for any that are interested.

Hi All, Great News!!! Gen 2 Hardware: No official word from IBM yet, but we did see that IBM has a 10.2.4f version for Gen2 hardware out in the wild. I took at the release notes and it says it contains a fix for a memory leak in the CIM agent, which is what was causing communication between Storage Manager and the XIV to…

Hi dkeyser, OK - let's go ahead and get you upgraded to 5.6.2. Try applying your new v5.6 STM key and then running the STM upgrade. This will still leave you with your 2 BU licenses. If you want those removed, given your in a locked down environment, the only option is to work with Support who can help you remove those…

Thanks for the update ocgov2012! We had tested internally, but always great to get this confirmation from the field.
-
Hi Sunil, SRM/STM 6.1 was released on May 19th, 2015. It should be available in your customer portal if you are on active maintenance. Enjoy!
-
Hi Ramon, Thanks for the insight! SRM supports HP Lefthand devices today via the SRM Profiler module. We are very interested in adding Lefthand support to the SRM Orion module as well, but there are no timeframes I can provide at the moment.
-
Hi Gildas Declerq, Effectively, SRM is STM - think of it as a rebranding. We are working on changing the name of the forum on Thwack to help avoid this confusion, but SRM/STM will cohabitate the same space nonetheless.

Hi kaushikpathak, The iSCSI block features are not exposed by EMC through SNMP and therefore we cannot collect this information. I discussed this with the EMC Isilon Team. According to them, iSCSI block support on Isilon is a legacy feature that they will eventually EOL and thus there are no plans to promote it through any…
-
Hi squinsey, I've contacted you offline regarding VNXe support. We are looking at feasibility right now; EMC's lack of SMI-S support for this array family makes support of this array technically challenging and expensive to implement. It is on our radar and we are investigating options though.
-
Hi dale, I detail the reasons in this Product Blog post: Storage Manager 5.7 Beta 1. This should not affect upgrades, only fresh installs, so you should not see any change on your end unless you do a fresh install. Even for new users, they can still set finer grained collection settings through the product's SMI-S and…
-
Hi dalelsw, We are looking very closely at NetApp Cluster Mode although it is undecided at this time when it will be included in Storage Manager.
-
Hi Pedrama, 5.6.2 was released yesterday. You should be receiving a customer notification with more details within the next week.
-
We definitely collect data about thin pools for VMAX, DMX, and Symmetrix, but we do not trend or forecast them at this time. If you feel passionately about adding this feature to Storage Manager, please add it to our feature request list.
-
Hi amccaskill, The screenshot you have posted in definitely not from Storage Manager. I think this is more suitable of a question to ask in the Web Help Desk forum.
-
One more idea: Sometimes this can happen when the device is already managed by Orion under a different IP address or when the address is the same for two different nodes. Can you search Orion for either of these two conflicts?
-
OK - so there is some light virtualization monitoring inside of NPM which is in the IVIM module. You should be able to get some information there. You said that the Host is a managed node. Is the parent vCenter of the Host also a managed node? Have you tried to delete the problematic node and re-add it when you see that…
-
Hi dwcasey, Support has tried reaching out to you (phone-voicemail/email) yesterday and today without success. I'm guessing that maybe our emails are getting stuck in a SPAM folder/email filter perhaps? Let me know if this continues to be a problem.
-
OK, Support should be reaching out to you shortly. I don't think this is a matter of the Server getting overwhelmed with alerts. Basically, if the agents are collecting data faster than they can get it sent back to the Server, we will exceed the allotted "data window" that is configured on the agent and begin overwriting…

Well, it looks like your an old pro It should not matter that you have two policies. You're agents should use whatever policy was last pushed to them.
