We believe we have identified the problem that is affecting this group of customers. The fix is in final testing, and if all goes well we should be able to make it generally available this week.
-
Can you point me at the issues you are having with NTA and traps?

Do you have an account with admin rights that dowes not have those characters? If not, you can go to the Accounts table in the database and replace the admin password with "140-71249-0233823-670". This will make the admin password blank and then you can login and change it.

ktm, We are working on a fix for this issue now. The problem is with characters #, ?, or & in the password for the account. Until we are able to get a fix for this released, try removing these characters from the account password.

Any of you that have support tickets open, please provide the ticket number. If anyone has not opened a support ticket for this, please do so. I would like to get some diagnostic information from your system and will handle that exchange through the support ticket system.

harrijs, What other resources do you have on your summary page? We are trying to identify which resources are slowing down the Summary load for people so we can optimize those. In SP2 we identified an issue with the All Nodes resource that would be slowing it down. We fixed that, but it does not appear to have had much…

I know this one is the latest: c:\Program Files\SolarWinds\Orion\SWToolSet.exe - v7.6.0.86 Created 8/29/2007 - Modified 8/29/2007 MD5 - E249E28EFEB12A7B9303637634D3A507 CRC32 - 4CF1915F The last build for 8.5 was on the 29th. The problem is the zip file contains the wrong version and this is getting unzipped to the…

This fix did not make it into hotfix 2 released today. We plan to include it in the next update.
-
Also, if you click on All Nodes link to detach the resource to a new page, how long does the new page take to load? How many Nodes do you have have?
-
The SolarWinds Trap Service can be restarted using the Services app within Windows or the Shutdown NetPerfMon utility available from the Orion Start Menu under Advanced Features. Try stopping this service and then starting it. If that does not work, then you should open a support ticket so we can work with you directly on…

The one in c:\Program Files\SolarWinds\Orion\NetPerfMon-WebSite.zip is the culprit. It is an old copy. We will get this fixed in an upcoming hotfix or release. To work around this now, update the zip to include the copy from c:\program files\SolarWinds\Orion\SWToolset.exe and either rerun the config wizard or copy the…

Is this when you first hit the page? Do you have the DirectLink account?
-
What are the last modified times of those instances? I am betting we just forgot to update the version number (for the last several releases it appears).
-
gpierro, As long as you are on version 9.1 SP2 you should apply the hotfix and see if it fixes your problem. If not, let us know.

bleearg13, sorry for that response. That was my fault. I thought 8.0 had the same behavior as what was being reported in 8.1. Based on this thread we went back and verified that 8.0 was working much faster than 8.1 for MapMaker. The released hotfix 5 replaces the 8.1 MapMaker with the 8.0 MapMaker. We will be looking at…

Correct. Test in alerts is for testing the actions, not the condition.

Errors I get are... from URL http://orion/Orion/SummaryView.aspx?accountid=******&password=******&netobject=? Orion Website Error An error has occurred with the Orion website. Additional Information System.InvalidOperationException: Unknown net object prefix: "?" at…

We also need to see the files in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\SolarWinds\Orion Management Pack for OpsManager 2007 on the machine where the management pack is installed.
-
Malvado, We think we have the custom poller issue discovered and are working on testing the fix now. If the fix pans out it will be in the next service pack relased for Orion (SP2). If you would like to be invovled in testing the fix, either post your case number or send me a private message. Thanks,

How can I detach a resource now that the tab is gone? I'm mostly looking to detach a map for quick viewing. I really liked this feature of 8.0. Detach is still available. The text in the resource header is now a link to detach.
-
This is a workaround for now. We are looking for the cause so we can fix it.
-
OK, it is clear we still have some work to do on the MapMaker fix. We are looking at it.
-
JB, We need to know where you are seeing this missing icon. Can you provide details on where in the website you are seeing it reference this non-existant image?
-
ktm, did you check out the things I suggested on July 7? Can you post screenshots of NetFlow Realtime showing traffic from the router and screenshots of NTA showing no data for the same router? Did support have you gather diagnostics (Program Files\SolarWinds\Orion\NetFlowTrafficAnalysis\SolarWindsDiagnostics.exe)? What…

OK, looks like we have a problem with upgrading this file. We are researching this now. One approach that may work if you urgently need to get the latest version is to delete the SWToolset.exe from the file system and then Repair the Orion installation (rerun installer and choose repair). I have not tested this yet, but it…

Delete reg key HKLM\Software\SolarWinds.net\ConfigurationWizard\ConfiguredModules (if you are running x64 then the key will be under HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node). This will start the config wizard over from scratch.
-
justinh, NetFlow and other newer modules (APM, VoIP) are multi-threaded and will take advantage of more cores/processors. The thing that is limited to a single thread/single core is the standard Orion poller. This is responsible for polling node and interface status and statistics. Typically where we see NetFlow impacting…

It is a known issue that it shows the wrong version for NCM. This will be addressed in a future release.

Meena, can you run SolarWindsDiagnostics.exe from the directory where you installed Orion (c:\program files\solarwinds\orion\ is the default location). Send the zip file to Joe and he will get it to me. Also, what is the URL of the page when you see this error? Did this happen after logging in or on the login page?
-
The fix is in testing now. Hope to have it available in a couple hours.
