This is in development. You should here something soon.

I'm opening a ticket on this to have QA verify. I'll advise when they weigh in. Doug

thwackking, I'm asking the dev team to look at this. Stay tuned. Thanks. Doug

Are we assuming that the device config includes valid user information? If so, refer to the Orion NCM Administrator Guide for the existing rule, policy, and report functionality; "Managing Policy Reports". In the upcoming release you will be able to auto-remediate parts of a config that triggers a rule alert. Doug

patriot, In short, as of NCM 7.0 you should get accurate NCM reports for nodes added either manually or through Network Sonar Discovery. In previous releases, the Network Sonar Discovery provided the information needed to create wireless, topology, and interfaces reports for NCM. If you run any of those three reports for…

Compliance (rules, policies, reports) is being rev'd for the upcoming release. In defining rules, you'll be able to create complex string searches that support regular expressions, parenthetical string groups, and and/or operators. And you'll be able to predefine remediation scripts to execute if device configs trigger a…

Points well taken. I've marked this for the NCM product manager; she'll have the best information about when export/sort are going to be supported for policy report results. Doug
-
If you have been backing up configuration this is where they are going. The Web Console is accessing them from this directory after they are downloaded.
-
What you describe would be very valuable for NCM to support. AFAIK the config scripts do not support #include statements; so I don't think there's currently a way to iterate through all the permutations you want. I'm marking this as a feature request. Doug
-
You might try just running the Configuration Wizard first to see if that fixes the problem. Doug
-
snauzer, Try the steps in this KB article: knowledgebase.solarwinds.com/.../NCM Integration Error: Orion Web Console Cannot Access NCM Information Service Let me know if it works. Doug
-
NCM alert integration with Orion is supposed to enable just what you describe. When a monitored device triggers an alert, one of the alert actions can be for NCM to execute a command on the device. See Chapter 13 of the Orion NCM Administrator Guide.
-
This is probably best handled with a custom SQL script after import.
-
If you want the NCM website to use that IP address, then run the NCM configuration wizard for 'Website' only. Then assign the IP Address in the Website Settings screen.

netlogix, apscherz is correct; NTA cannot run independently of NPM. NTA is considered an NPM module and therefore requires NPM for node management, etc.and also uses the NPM database. Depending on how you wanted to limit NPM and NTA users from accessing the features of each application, you could possibly setup effective…

Hello jswan, We apologize for the inconvenience. Here are the instructions that go with the UDT version 1.0.1 Hotfix 1: SolarWinds User Device Tracker version 1.0.1 Hotfix 1 Hotfix 1 fixes several issues: - Some devices running CatOS doesn't show endpoints for not-default vlan. - Some Juniper devices show wrong vlan for…

Hi, Traffic View Builder has been replaced in NTA 3.8 with the Flow Navigator. Look for it on any NTA view in the left margin of the screen. Click Flow Navigator and you'll see all the filtering options. For more information have a look at the section on the Flow Nagivator in the NTA Adminsitrator Guide:…

IT_Denver, Take a look at this KB article (knowledgebase.solarwinds.com/.../How can I authenticate NCM user access on network devices?) and let me know if it helps. Doug
-
That's correct, managing EnergyWise requires the NCM/NPM integration. Setting up the integration across sites might incur latency but should work; assuming the route over which NCM and NPM communicate is consistently available and the security security used permits the communication across domains (for example).

Hi there. Currently SNMP is a supported download protocol on Cisco devices only. What's the model you're working on? Doug
-
1151 is the IANA issued port for that software. I'm guessing it's an authentication server. Someone slip one onto your network while you weren't looking?
-
Try: CTRL+[This should be equivalent to ‘ESC key (ASCII code 27)
-
Hi, Action scripts on alerts do support regex. I'm sorry I can't provide a ready-made script, though, for your purposes. Doug
-
In NCM 5.5.2 all custom jobs must be titled with alphanumeric characters to be visible. They'll run invisibly otherwise.
-
Jenya, It sounds like making a config change template would be a good option for you in this case. Have you explored that feature in NCM; there's a chapter devoted to it in the admin guide. Doug
-
Are you still having trouble with this? Did you restart NCM after changing admin access credentials? Doug
-
5.5.2 SP1 is being released to Support today; it fixes all the Server 2008 issues. One caveat about running RTCD on Server 2008 is that you need to set Administrator permissions for both Syslog Server and Trap Server. This KB article explains how to do so: http://support.solarwinds.com/kbase/ProblemDetail.cfm?ID=1399

Check the device template for the machine in question; make sure the connection information is correct. C:\Program Files\SolarWinds\Configuration Management\DeviceTypes Doug
-
Hi Aaron, This behavior seems errant to me. I'll ask dev to investigate. Stay tuned. Doug

Assuming you have NCM 5.5.0 or later you should see a Windows Account option on the dropdown in the login resource. Do you not see a dropdown list there? D
