  • I had a feature request for this same issue a several years ago. Due to the lack of multi browser monitoring capability, my company has been forced to partner with 3rd parties to fulfil web monitoring requirements. C'mon SolarWinds!!!!
  • @ SolarWinds WPM is a good module and I like some of the features such as the waterfall and screen shots that are captured as these really do assist greatly when reviewing performance and issues. However, I'm sure we're not the only ones but, one of our largest applications is designed around Google Chrome. As a result for…
  • Hi, Just to add. Some of my companies key web based applications are created using Google Chrome. This is resulting in us having to approach 3rd parties to fulfill monitoring requirements with talks of retiring a vast SolarWinds suite of products that has seen a lot of time, money and resource investment. Its a shame as…
  • I have done the following thus far; * Set the alert evaluation frequency back to 1 minute. * Created a duplicate alert for high CPU utilisation, with the same trigger conditions/variables.
  • There is only 1 definition of the alert. In addition, when I create an alert, I do so using a clean sheet rather than, copying and editing an existing alert. I have been advised to create a fresh alert, identical to the one in question, (I will obviously name it differently). Upon having written the alert, I will ensure…
  • Steven, firstly, thanks for the assistance so far! I have copied the alerts for one device below. As it can be seen, we are getting several alerts (when the device exceeds the defined threshold and also when the condition is no longer true), distributed at the same time. The alerts are all identical.
  • Steven Thanks for the tip. I will take a look within the alert definitions folder to see if there is anything that could be contributing to the multiple emails issuse.
  • As you can see, no boxes are checked, this was left untouched as per default. Regards
  • Steven, We have run the configuration wizard prior to the creation of the duplicate alert. The repair configuration was successful. As our Solarwinds is within a live production environment, disabling all the other alerts is not feasible as that would prevent critical alerts (e.g network, websites, user journeys,…
  • These are the polling settings;
  • Hi Steve Thank you for the information. I am new to Solarwinds so slowly trying to get my head around it. I have attached a screen shot of each of the tabs within the CPU Exceeding 95%+ Alert, as it stands at the moment. (I have earased the email addresses for security purposes). Any further assistance will be greatly…
  • UPDATE I have now successfully achieved what I wanted via the use of SNMP traps and and many comfiguration amendments on the targets and SNMP settings.
  • jblesener I used the template that you linked to and its come in very handy. No issues or error within it. Thank you.
  • Its good that WPM will be using Chromium as thats a good step forwards but, that alone is not enough to match the competition as competiors seem to have sprinted past SolarWinds WPM package. Is there any feature list details for WPM 3.0? Its a shame as we have a large SolarWinds suite and it would be nice to keep…
  • Janene16, Thank you for your answer. I wasn't sure if SAM components could be transferred by themselves. I will transfer the nodes accordingly, many thanks! Regards
  • Success! It appears that changing the property type to monitor from "volume" to "node" has solved the issue as highlighted below; It can be seen that, when the alert is triggered, I now only get 1 alert. I also only get 1 alert for the reset too. I would like to thank Steve for his assistance through this issue. It took…
  • Solarwinds have been looking into this for a while and recommended changing the 'property to monitor' from, 'volume' to 'node'. They state that everytime the alert triggers, when the property type to monitor = volume, the alert is sent for each volume recorded against the node that triggers the alert. So if Node 'Y' has 8…
  • I have crated an alert, to duplicate the original alert detailed above. (The duplicate alert contains "Re-Written") in its title, so that we can differentiate between the two. I have left both enabled to check for comparisons. The screen capture below shows that, both of the alerts are behaving in the same manner - sending…
  • Looking into this further, the only viable solution is to look at using SNMP traps and alert from those.
  • I have had a reply from SolarWinds support. If the website works fine in IE (which it does, as I ensured I could run through the transaction prior to attempting a recording), then its liekly to be an issue with the player. I have been advised to upgrade to the latest version of WPM.
  • Initially select the node in question, click 'list resources'. This check list should show what is available (you will need to ensure the SNMP is set up correctly obviously). If the SNMP is set up correctly and you still cannot see the volumes that you require to monitor, then you will need to go through a M.I.B walk to…
  • Just a point worth mentioning, we have had some issues as well with this SNMP v3 being a PITA to setup for AIX. We managed it fine with requiring the crypto file and following the steps in most online resources, be sure to ensure the local key is present as well as the authentication key.
