  • Hi pratikmehta003 The suggestion is that a workaround for MultiSubnet HA without DNS would be to add an Additional Polling Engine in each of the two HA locations which has HAwith VIP. You then send all traps, Syslog, net flow etc to the Additional poller VIP rather than the Primary DNS. This does require a lot more spend…
  • Hey thomasfarren are you able to paste some screenshots of what you see? Here is an example of my lab where I have purposefully selected two devices I know are NOT sending QoS and they show in my NetFlow Sources Then in my Manage Sources: Once I remove the tick from NetFlow it removes them from my Summary View.
  • Thanks for the clarification jhynds are you not worried this will force people into not taking the product and instead choosing to stay on the free, slightly feature-poor version, which is something they have had included in NPM since it's existence?
  • Take the tick out of all of the products so that none are selected, and then the option at the top should change to Add/Upgrade. Then you can insert your HA License key from your Customer Portal, and that should then allow you to activate your Scalability Engine.
  • Good luck - Let us know if it makes any difference.
  • Hi elevated-tech so if your not attached to that particular Alert I would suggest starting a new one from scratch. Firstly as per the response from jpaluch there are some Out-of-Box alerts which you could copy and use as a template, but in essence, you need to do something like this: 1. Make sure you set the Trigger…
  • Again why would you NOT be monitoring a Cisco device via SNMP as they are one of the most common SNMP devices, if there is a security reason, then you would just have to add a Custom Property.
  • Can you show us what you have so far as the default widget created by mesverrum included the Account field so you must have either created your own or modified it in some way. Report on Muted and Unmanaged Entities
  • I will often uninstall NTA and IPAM before I upgrade as they are two of the more problematic modules.
  • Do you know what permissions you’ve given the account your using to add the Server?
  • Thanks Deltona that's really helpful. acmtix if you can share your findings it would be good to know
  • The switch device log proves that NCM can successfully authenticate onto the device, but is getting timed out. Check your NCM Settings: Settings > All Settings > NCM Settings > Configs - Check the Config Transfer section for simultaneous downloads and config transfer timeout.
  • Yep - that's working fine now on my demo lab which is 12.4
  • In that instance the Node already exists and is assigned to a specific polling engine (determined either on the original import, or manually changed in the UI). So regardless of which polling engine you select from the discovery wizard, when existing nodes detect changes (such as new volume) it would import the volumes to…
  • Yes - The NTA 4.4 (Which is currently in Release Candidate, due to be GA very soon) will require SQL Server 2016 to host the database, SolarWinds are moving away from FastBit. If you don't have SQL2016 then you can stay on NTA 4.2.3 no problem. Just something to consider in your future planning.

  • The SQL Query is still valid, so all you would need to do is go to Report Manager via Reports > All Reports > Manage Reports. Then select "Create New Report" and choose Custom Table. From the Selection Method, drop down and select Advanced Database Query (SQL, SWQL). Then insert the query with your code in line 16, then…
  • The DateTime CP requires you to select a date and time from a dropdown within the Alert Action, so you would need to use a text CP so that you can then use the Above Variable of: ${N=Generic;M=Date;F=Date} Or ${N=Generic;M=DateTime;F=DateTime}
  • You should ask him to check the latest release notes and come back to you!
  • Hi Deltona, I admit this is hard to simulate because I can't force my WAN Router down lol. I'll see if I can mock up a different one later on. Let me jump over to my Lab system and see if I can get a screenshot.
  • Sorry to clarify what is the local username that your using to authenticate on that machine with? Whatever account your using needs to be A) A local account with Administrator level access B) The same username and password on all machines of this type to save on having 20 different credentials in your SolarWinds. In my…
  • Did you complete your upgrade yet ebradford ? I have the following scenario. Current environment running 12.1 and newly provisioned environment currently running 12.2 with a test DB. My plan for migration day was to simply copy the DB File to the new SQL Server, and re-run Configuration Wizard on the Primary Server to…
  • Hi Serena, #1 - I will email you the screenshots and the saved reports I have had from the different products. #2 - I get there are small variations, but my point is the original path got stuck as it wouldn't let me progress past NPM12.0 unless I added 2 extra steps which were not in the original PUA report produced at the…
  • Thanks Manilyn, but I shouldn't really have to check that if the Product Advisor has told me one thing already. There needs to be a single source of truth for the latest versions of all modules like there was in the original PUA in the Customer Portal.
  • Depending on what SQL Version you are running you could just install at your existing level and upgrade all the way to 12.2 on the single box rather than migrating midway through. Think the oldest you can run on 2012r2 would be 10.4 which would be pretty old I would be surprised if many people are that behind.
  • This is just a test URL that is automatically populated by the system, I don't think you need to worry about it other than when you're changing your proxy settings. Once the test is passed you can submit your proxy changes and forget it. The URL won't be used for anything other than a connectivity test. Maybe I'm…
  • Excellent, thank you for the clarification. Sorry but are you able to confirm, if that’s the same for the new Cortex Service on port 17799 ?
  • If the Custom Property is defined in a Group Dynamic Query SolarWinds won't allow you to delete it, as it could break the Group and the Dependency. The properties held against each Node for the Custom Property value are metadata and will be removed by the act of deleting the Custom Property itself. It's mainly to do with…
  • Are you referring to the Assign button in the License Manager? Can you post a screenshot? Have you tried the Add/Upgrade License button in the top right? You don't actually have to add the license to a product specifically Orion has the intelligence to automatically add that license to the right software in your license…
  • If you have an HA license you should enter in the License Manager screen as per comments above. The only other reason the Pool Member would show RED in the Deployment screen is if the server isn't compatible (ie non-matching applications etc)
