Hi Mat, Have you tried the links above for guidance, and if so how far have you got, what parts did/didn't work? Have you tried simply browsing to - YOURURL/ui/perfstack/ ?

You could go down the route of uninstalling all the applications, but as much as SolarWinds have improved the install & upgrade process the uninstall process still leaves a lot of holes., but I would agree with HerrDoktor a fresh install is probably best, although make sure you copy any local NCM Config Archive's if you're…
-
One word of warning - Either activate or remove your NCM before your upgrade or it might cause problems. I've seen the new installer stop you upgrading if any of the modules are out of maintenance or on evaluation. As a devil's advocate, depending on how much risk you are willing to take (As your standing up a new virtual…

Yes if you want to add Additional Poller or Additional Webserver to your lab you will need a license but sadly they only come in one size so not many people use them in labs.

This is also a very good post - Running vs Startup Config - "certificate self-signed" in Running but not in Startup Config

Will that change it for all users or just my account?

Hi wfriesn1 so as per SolarWinds Log Manager for Orion (LM) 1.0 Release Notes - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support the Log Manager product will require it's own database running on SQL 2016 SP1 or later. I did ask the question if Kiwi can still be used to forward filtered logs onto Orion LM and the answer was yes.…

Thanks aLTeReGo, just to clarify Orion Primary <> Orion Standby (HA WAN) Orion Primary <> APE (Primary) Orion Primary <> APE (Standby) Orion Standby <> APE (HA Primary) Orion Standby <> APE (HA Standby) Does it need to point to VIP or the Pool IP Directly?
-
Thanks for the feedback
-
Congratulations
-
Agreed - This is the most likely scenario.
-
Sadly Orion isn't designed to be a multi-tenant system so I don't imagine they will be trying to resolve that anytime soon. You are correct in that any customer can use the URL to browse within the site to a different view, which is why Account Limitations and View Limitations are so important and try to be consistent…

If you can get your servers to 2008 R2, you can perform these steps: Then install the latest version on your new 2016 server, and the Config Wizard will be able to upgrade it all. Hope this helps, but if you can't get to SP1, then maybe we can look at something else.
-
I stand corrected - Although I would argue that there was a lot of work put into those reports but due to the awesomeness of this community we all get to benefit !

Were you able to grab a diagnostics from the machine or the ConfigWizard log file as it would have given more information on the specific table that was getting stuck.

This is a known issue with IPAM Configuration wizard stuck at importing sample maps when IPAM is installed - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support

Hi cahunt I had a similar client experience on Wednesday, the client who was upgrading from NPM 12.0.1, SAM 6.3.0, UDT 3.2.2, IPAM 4.3.2, NCM7.5.1 The client contacted us after getting the error: Arithmetic overflow error converting expression to data type int On checking the machine there were several factors that could…

NTA 4.4 needs its own database and it needs to be on SQL Server 2016. If your existing SQL Server is 2016 then you can host the new database on the same server instance but it will have its own MDF/LDF.

I would check the SNMP access from your Standby server, because it may be that actually none of your devices are correctly polling at all, but because Status uses ICMP it's not always obvious. A quick test might be to run a SNMPWalk from your Standby server to one of your devices. If your using a VIP then make sure that…

Hi diamondtouch you need to follow the instructions posted above by tony.johnson and run the Configuration Wizard selecting "New Database" this will start you with a fresh database.

Here is the link I was referring to: [Script] Automatic Geolocation Devices in Worldwide Map if would need some alterations to work with Group(Container) Custom Properties rather than Nodes.

Agreed, if HA for your NTA FSDB really is critical then moving it into SQL will enable you to use AG's within SQL which will most likely be a lot easier. I have experience of a customer setting up MS Clustering for the NTA FSDB using the guidelines provided by SolarWinds, and they could do with some minor re-wording, but…

Seriously Export to PDF has been removed as a feature that's insane !
-
All I would add is that if both accounts have SolarWinds access, then you will get logged in using the pass-through account, but you can log out and will then be prompted for login details, at which point you can enter your alternative account.
-
You could also use NetPath.

The only thing I could suggest is looking at this blog from our own KMSigma where he talks about automating the configuration wizard. Technically if you can condition the trigger to occur only in the event of an HA Failure and an SQL Failure then it could work, but don't forget that in reality, you will need to break the…

I wonder if they are referring to stopping/breaking the AAG Cluster prior to running Config Wizard so that it updates the DB on the Primary Node as a single Node, then re-enable AAG to allow replication to do its work? You shouldn't need to do this, but maybe that's what the SE was referring to? Either way, as mesverrum…

Hi Tim, Did you manage to open a bug for this missing object, and if so how do I go about tracking it's progress? Thanks

Hi janobi SolarWinds use an Online Proctoring company, so you can sit the exam anywhere, but you have to adhere to strict guidelines to ensure you are able to take the exam. You need to be in an isolated environment and away from any posters or boards you might hide notes etc. The proctor normally will ask you to perform a…
