Congratulations Robert, same here! BadgeCert

Well done Josh, welcome to the ranks.

Hey bobmarley not to put words in anyone's mouth but from what I've understood talking with SolarWinds this will mean that your name will be flagged in the system, so when your user account logs a ticket in the customer portal it will be given a slight elevation in priority. It hasn't been confirmed when this will go live…

Congrats - Hope they allow us to put SCP Exams on Thwack somehow soon.
-
Well done Robert

I would argue that depending on your job role and your company field then it would have some very specific market value. Yes, it isn't as generic as something like Cisco CCNA, but then what do you get back from Cisco once you have passed the exams? The SCP will give you access to continued learning as well as support from…

Hey grantallenby nice work, I've been out of the office pretty much since I posted this so I'm only just catching up on things. I will be testing this in my lab first thing on Monday and then cascading it down to the customer to confirm. SW Tech has just emailed me asking me for diagnostics - Standard! Rookie mistake not…

If you have time that would be awesome, would be good info to pass into the ticket. I don't have any time to spin up a 12.2 VM right now, so would have to wait otherwise.

Yes NPM12.3 Core 2018.2 HF2 - My lab is 12.3 /,2018.2 HF4

If you check the original template thread there is a post in the comments about updating it to only catch Jobs that are Enabled. MS SQL Agent - failed jobs
-
Wow bambarit this thread is pretty old as it's from 2015 and a lot has changed in NPM since then. I would suggest you should have started a new thread, but none the less it would be best to see the exact error message you are getting in your environment along with some additional information such as what NPM version your…

You shouldn't need to de-activate any license if you are just migrating your SQL Server, as the license is for the SolarWinds applications. The specific steps are in this part of the KB Migrate the SolarWinds Orion SQL database to a new server - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support
-
You might even go one step further and set up a NetPath probe to look at the entire network route during that time.
-
Hi, Would it be possible to get a copy also, I am going to re-watch the video's but I would love to watch them in order of appearance rather than just randomly. Email: david.smith@hotmail.co.uk Thanks

I agree with dsimpkins - It would be worth checking your DB Tables to see what the top offenders are. If you go to Settings > All Settings > Database Details - Then click the "Database Statistics" link at the bottom of the page.
-
I had this during an upgrade last week - Can't for the life of me fathom why MMC would cause problems with installations or upgrades, but there ya go - Learn something new every day.

I'm sure the Summary View has a limit to the number of devices it will list approx 20, and then it will say something along the lines of "(and X more). Could that be the issue?
-
Isn’t that an EOC feature Nick?
-
I suspect that Capacity Forecast values are re-calculated during DB Maintenance and that could be what is causing this issue? In terms of improvement I would suggest setting Custom Properties against your Volumes with which you can use to customise your alerts.

SQL Server 2012 is the lowest supported version by SolarWinds.
-
Impressive work and true dedication to the cause - I’m already excited to see the full blown breakdown. I would suggest it needs to go into Monitoring Central if possible! If not then Reports Lab?
-
Hi pratikmehta003 I'm not sure if I understand 100%, but are you referring to the polling frequency? If so that can be set per node or globally: Or if you're talking about generic timeouts - go to Settings > All Settings > Polling Settings - Then scroll to Network: If you're looking for a way to edit the second picture…
-
Agreed - This is hopefully going to take you above and beyond the basic T1 Helpdesk level of investigation.
-
I might be wrong, but it sounds like the OP was asking if an in-place OS Upgrade from Win SVR 2008 to Win SVR 2012 will provide any issues. If that is the case then I would say that in-place upgrades are rarely reliable and whilst they might work fine and your SolarWinds software should continue to operate in today's…

My immediate thought was the same, your start and stop are identical, if you're looking to search all interfaces then your stop would be ! and then it will search each Interface as a block.
-
Well done all, Would you mind sharing the final syntax you used?
-
Thanks kpmarcin I might just have to steal that
-
You can also select the interfaces as "Unpluggable" so that they don't flag as Down when they are unplugged. I do this for edge interfaces that customers still want to monitor for interface traffic and discards etc or customers who don't have UDT.
-
I thought this was fixed in NPM 12 so you can go to Settings > Web Console Settings and add the URL?

Hi kange0010 I can confirm that your SSL Certificate will only impact the browser security. It will not have any impact on your Orion's monitoring capabilities. - David Smith Kenson - SolarWinds Authorized Partner Training, Licenses & Professional Services - LinkedIn - Twitter - Facebook
