thebackupguru are you able to provide a link around the guidance for using Backup to protect my Orion instance? I think that would be a great starting point to demo the product. Thanks

Thanks for the response - looking forward to trialling it!

Just to build on this the line you're looking for will be: SELECT TOP 10 distinct ac.Name [Alert Name]

I vaguely remember a THWACKCamp session from last year with Dez and possibly KMSigma showing the Advanced Admin Settings where you could override some of the global settings and aim sure ASA polling was in there - I’ll try and find it wen I’m in the office in the next hour.
-
Yup, def feature request as its often asked for by my support teams to help understand what does and doesn’t qualify for an alert.
-
Hi @"tjkru" as per my post in your other thread, you can do this via the Orion SDK.
-
Sorry - I just re-read this post with a little more sleep under my belt. What your asking for might not be achievable. If I've re-read this correctly, what your asking for is a 1min trigger delay whereby the Alert will only trigger IF The condition exists for > 1 minute? Traps/Syslog are basically event messages so it…
-
Exactly that - Any active alerts will still be in the database when you bring the system back online. So unless the condition has cleared once the polling engine checks it will then update the alert table. Don't forget that unless you have repeat alert trigger conditions then existing alerts won't trigger new emails etc it…

Would the query not be in the Resources table in the Database? I’ll look on my system once I’m in the office

If my previous post answered your question please mark it as correct, as it helps me and helps the community find the answers quicker

And as I posted it I found the following KB: Create an NCM report that shows the licensed nodes - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support Use the following: SELECT np.NodeID, nd.SysName, nd.IP_Address, CASE WHEN np.NodeID IS NULL THEN 'Not Licensed' ELSE 'Licensed' END as Status FROM NCM_NodeProperties as np RIGHT JOIN…

Hi dsmith5266 Sorry I meant what version or model specifically. To my knowledge, Cisco IOS doesn't need a Y/N confirmation to remove a username and I wondered where you had seen that? If you can give me a better example I can try and simulate it in my test lab. I assume your setting up the script to do this via a bulk…

DOH.... Is there a qucking myself emote? I just realised I had not re-applied the SP1 exe file. Oh well I am downloading SP3 now as that is the latest. Thanks

Glad you got there in the end

The simplest way to test this is to RDP to your Orion server and try to putty to the box in question, making sure you are using the same connection type (SSH/Telnet) and the same credentials. If everything works then it could be an issue with the device template, if it doesn't work then I would suggest you check the…

thauma Almost all of what you are looking for is stored centrally within the SolarWinds Orion SQL Database, so that is why it has been the most recommended option. Initially, I do agree that a Database migration would most likely suit your requirements, as to comply with your security policy would be to delete that content…

Thanks aLTeReGo - Do you know if this HF will address the outstanding issue of Custom Charts that use a SQL/SWQL Data source?

Hello, I too am getting this error and was wondering if you had found a resolution? I have an open case with Solarwinds Support, but it's been two days with no update. The Solarwinds Orion NCM Information Service service failed to start due to the following error: The service did not respond to the start or control request…
-
Agreed - Your opening a can of worms for yourself. I curse SolarWinds for putting that in the UI!

Glad you got there in the end

Welcome

It will overwrite any existing value in the CP field with the one set in the Alert. This means any servers that have been incorrectly set will be corrected. However, if you don't want this (maybe there are exceptions that you manually have in a different environment then you could add an additional condition to the Scope…

Just to add some context now I'm back in front of my computer: You might want to consider that the 'is not equal to' is a negative query and isn't the most optimal. Depending on the number of Machine Types you want to capture you might be better off with something such as 'Contains - Server'.

Great feedback

ecklerwr1 wrote: We're upgrading two Orion systems from NPM 11.5.3 all the way up to 12.2 and moving off Windows 2008R2 and SQL 2008 today which means... upgrade in place to 12.1 then move the database over to brand new VM's already running 12.1 then upgrade it to 12.2 with the new installer! Wish me luck friends!!! All of…

You might want to check this out though: Volume Report - Fixed Disk - Available - Size - Used - overall volume capacity with Thresholds Some excellent SQL in that report.

Resolved this issue myself with custom reports pulling out of the UnDP
