Very interesting post and thread. Thanks for sharing. It will be interesting to see where this goes.

Congrats to all the winners!

Excellent series of posts. Thanks. I especially liked this comment: "Taking one step at a time and having a plan of where you want to get to. Taking those bite-sized pieces and dealing with it that way. You just can’t get approval to add a whole bunch of resources to do anything. It’s a matter of molding how we do things…

Pretty amazing what they are able to do with robots these days. I wonder how long the batteries last and how much it weighs?

Love the mini missions! Thanks marcoswithanoh!

I'm not seeing it either. I have "High Availability Deployment Summary" under Settings -> All Settings, but don't see anything that looks like health.

But does it actually address the real problem? Just like bootlegged music, software, etc, as long as there is a market for anything illegal people will continue to do it.

Congrats to all the winners. Great job everyone.

Good post. Thanks. There are so many ramifications of IOT that folks just don't think about. The silos/fiefdoms that spring up, especially in older organizations just drives me nuts.

Thanks for the post. Interesting to hear the challenges from the perspective of a large enterprise. Also appreciate Garry's candor: "We eventually took another run at just ITSM with a different vendor. We lost four or five years going down the first trail." Very few leaders are willing to admit that sort of thing so they…

Interesting post. Thanks. I've seen this both with cloud and on-prem. Depending on the application, throwing more resources (cpu and/or memory) can actually make the problem *worse* at times. You have to dig in and find out what the real issues and bottlenecks are before you start modifying things.

Thanks for a bunch of great links. The Tetris example is great for technical debt. There are a lot of other good posts on that site as well. I wasn't hungry til I saw the pic, now I want some. Definitely adding Jack Stack to the list of must visit places next time I'm in KC.

Interesting analogy (and one I agree with), especially after being in IT for more than 30 years now and seeing all the technological silver bullets that were going to solve all the problems (and didn't). That said, there is a lot of usefulness even when they don't live up to all the hype, and some of the things people…

Great idea KMSigma ! Looking forward to this series.

Thanks for the post Suzanne. The Passivhaus concept is an interesting one. I'd love to be able to do that one day.

As always, thanks for a bunch of interesting links. Love the hat btw - possible Thwack Store item? Uber losing money - color me shocked. Had to chuckle at the "they have plenty of money so they can continue the burn rate for some time" comment. Reminds me of the good old .com days when it didn't matter how much money you…

Thanks @adatole! Great stuff.

We're not currently using SCM. We might be able to add it as some point in the future.

For us it's the tyranny of the "next big thing" pushing the required upgrades downstream until they become a crisis.

Congrats rschroeder! You're an inspiration to us all.

Very cool. Thanks!

Wunderbar. Congratulations on a job well done. Now I want to visit Augsburg the next time we go back.

Congrats to all the new and returning MVPs. Well deserved. You're a big part of what makes Thwack an awesome (dare I say *the* most awesome) online community.

Hadn't seen this before. Thanks for posting it.

Done.

Go to the demo site and work through everything SolarWinds Demo | Online Orion Demo Login . You can try all the products and don't have to set anything up. There are lots of demo systems in there. Lurk on thwack and ask questions (you're already doing that obviously) Download and install any demo products you need to learn.

I'm with rschroeder - I just got done with a beta (DPA) and had it running in parallel against real (i.e. production systems) but without changing anything on my production DPA box. That way I could compare them side by side to see differences as well as have a baseline as a sanity check. When the GA release came out I…
