has ever been true

I'd like to add one more thing to this request: add a way to attach an email or attach a string of text to the "Reason for unmanaging", when a node is to be unmanaged? It'd be nice for me to reference the documentation we have when we are unmanaging something. This would work great for mass-unmanaging, as well as cut down…

Not without being notified about a thousand times, probably? I worked for a safety standards company for ~10 years. This stuff doesn't magically happen overnight.

maybe we can ask michal.hrncirik ? Where is this at as for implementation status/priority, good sir?

2017 bump! I still cannot recommend considering this without an SLX/ALX option. Hoping this would simplify things.

Bumping to link ideas yet again

should be good times!

I have a friend whose entire job is basically helping people migrate to the cloud and the first thing he tells people to do is PREPARE. It sounds like some people jump at the word cloud without even knowing anything about it still.

This is massively, massively more complicated than it needs to be. I could make a document of how to do this in about....4 images? You could just use Business hours reporting in the Web Based Report Writer - note the post by HolyGuacamole about 1/3rd of the way down the page, and do this with no SWIS and no SQL. Plus the…

I can't like jbiggley's comment enough here. the general purpose of ITIL is exactly as stated, and that common nomenclature is key to basic understanding. If you have a guy saying "PC box" but really he means "endpoint" or "windows server", you're simply going to be starting off on the wrong foot. Meanwhile, things like…

Maybe easiest way to implement this is via existing node unmanage functionality but adding some criteria? If we're adding "unmanage reasons" as a FR, why not have a "planned vs unplanned", or "silent vs noisy", or basically some binary toggle or checkbox within the options for unmanaging a node (without negating the option…

I find this intriguing. In what way do you mean federation? I'm curious, if you care to explain Do you mean like Federated database system - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia ?
-
That appears to possibly be the case, many agents show localhost as their primary IP. Regardless I'd like to be able to specify poll via agent credential if the agent is installed, even if my primary polling method is SNMP - especially for things like hardware health.
-
Users should generally always have downloads blocked, but that also requires that you have a valid/useful software repo for people to get *authorized* applications, etc. To only do the one without the other is to invite terrible security.

I think it's practical in how it explains things - something I'd send to a manager if I knew they'd read it. Again though I like the problem -> resolution but the story doesn't really flow? Still good. (I know my management won't read if I send them things like this, sadly).

Bookmarking! Step one is to make sure you actually have access to the DB, as well

Is this different than the newer nexus polling?

Do they teach data massaging?

July bump. Don't forget to let Meraki know you want this too!

I was a little concerned so many people got it wrong, but to be honest taking a day off of it before trying to answer and coming back seemed to do the job for me. I think ecklerwr1 had the right step of trying to solve the answer though! I know I gave DanielleH a bit of a hard time on it, but I think the problem is…

late 2018 bump!

DanielleH May 10th to April 5th...so, 330 days of vacation? Definitely impressive. Even if it's April 5th to May 10th it's still impressive

I think a part of the issue here is that security is important to us as end users but not necessarily to the companies in question who manufacture products. This has clearly been the case and even Bruch Schneier has been covering it lately with Security Economics of the Internet of Things - Schneier on Security . Hopefully…

I'll have to test jpetkevich; I think I last tested a version ago - same as rschroeder . You're saying it's officially supported now? Support previously said it was unsupported even though it listed. I bet you're going to make quite a few people happy if this is implemented 100%

I thought we're here to delegate? I don't think this is an exclusively sql thing, but you could always pull a page out via hubble.

bump/reminder jreves, this one is going to become more relevant going forward

Bumpity bump bump.

I find in order to narrow your troubleshooting radius properly, you need staff and management that don't define it too loosely from the getgo. In my case sometimes I have to help people understand that networking is not the cause and solution to the problem, and yet I'm still expected to help through the completion of the…

welp, I stand corrected
