I always wonder this whenever I see "BEST IN CLASS" types of awards. I know the car industry used to use that stuff to proclaim they were the best in their (newly and narrowly defined) vehicle categories with shining awards everywhere, with very very few exceptions.

I meant to ask again the same 2nd part of my question: for people who use VMAN, do they look for these recommendations or no? Is this the kind of info you (as solarwinds admins) or whomever handles virtualization would want to know? I was still thinking about the question of how intuitive it is if we haven't used it before…

This is true across the board. The catch is who needs to do which bullet point, and getting them to support doing it (this does not all rest on the heads of the admin)

I'd like to echo that the page they're sending you to is not where the answer resides, and I think that's quite unlike most thwack questions. Most pages that say "click here for a hint" mean: check that page/thing to find the answer. etc.

I agree, the idea of submitting an idea is to flesh out more of it with discussion. I don't know if this will ever go anywhere or not, depending on the SAM development priority/schedule.

This is the epitome of how cloud functions. I wouldn't call it cloud switch, maybe just cloud maintenance schedule. That way you can assign it per virtual data center. Otherwise I would have to do some custom property shenanigans via prod / non prod to even attempt this.

I'd be happy to discuss both documentation and report customization jkuvlesk​ . Those are definitely areas that I'm working with currently that I have a lot of feedback.

yeah, I see this becoming more relevant for me going forward as well. Coupled with the move towards ACI, this will be a component of it.

I did it myself once, but it was far enough back I hadn't remembered how to do it. It did work well, though.
