You can create rules on the web, you don't need to go to the trap viewer application.
-
Existing maps are fine, and the crashing doesn't break them. It's just that the crash creates a duplicate - often the crash is when you are saving data.
-
brandonwduncan unfortunately, SCP is not directly supported for NCM firmware upgrades. Dez and KMSigma can confirm this. I opened tickets that confirmed the same. I would suggest voting up this FR I created for it, I meant to do this before. I just made one. . Vote that up!

Pattern? Yes: We don't use a proxy at all but we are using AD domains for credentials. A lot of scripts involving transactions for internal applications will fail outright with authentication issues when I push them to a player but succeed when run from the recorder. So maybe I should be looking into this configuration…

not to harp on cobrien because it's not his area directly, but having some folks focus on optimizing some of the website's queries could go a long way.
-
tagging cobrien, this causes issues with 7K as much as it does with netscalers and meraki. Do you need a FR for this?

service-now integration with Orion already exists, without any additional tools. You can have an email alert sent to service-now and have it handled that way.
-
I ran a UDT POC. It's a fairly useful tool. There are a few things to note. 1: It interacts with IPAM, some functionality is lost without that. 2: It easily retains HISTORICAL data of where users went, once you integrate it properly with AD. 3: It's not really a good security function, but you can easily shut/no shut a…

adatole Additionally, why do we even list them *as* volumes? If there's no point to monitoring them in that fashion for the most part (which I would mostly tend to agree aside from certain VMs and how their memory is reported), why is this even an option?
-
Not only that, but having an agent poll the services on each machine in the VIP is probably the best way to go.
-
Also, not SAM specific but if you have NTA and are getting traffic flows you at least should be seeing what is effectively being permitted through the Windows Firewall and also be able to alert on specific traffic.
-
Hey alex.ramos@waterandsewer.org , where is the query you used before? Can you show part of what you already had worked on, so we can see where things are at?
-
Yep! Alternatively you could use the SDK, but the above approach is probably the simplest/makes the most sense.

Late, late, late reply here: aLTeReGo Is there any theoretical way to get this reported back through the vmware data gained from IVIM? Aka: redhat virtualized machine, polled via vmware, just says Vmware hypervisor but no OS listed in Asset inventory.
-
You can embed a report when you customize a page, one of the objects is "report", and then you have to edit it to select that specific report. Also, I tested your query and I get failure from it. Hmm. SWQL time.

olessandr I missed a comma on v.Node.CustomProperties.Device_Class as Application - this should be ,v.Node.CustomProperties.Device_Class as Application
-
olessandr you need to define a custom property here, line 18 above, 17 in search string or remove the search part v.Node.CustomProperties.Device_Class as Application --replace with custom property of your choosing so v.node.customproperties.yourcustomproperty and also in lines 17 & 20 within the search query. WHERE…

nickzourdos looks like it's time to make #ipo

Agreed, 100%. You need to monitor solarwinds within solarwinds or you're not going to know how it's doing.
-
Curious, how are you doing CPE within the DB manager? I was always using the separate executable.
-
Hmm. It should still technically be the same, although it's actually possible to generate a much more significant load on the machines with agents because you're not just doing basic polling. TLDR: Maybe that should be a separate question like, what polling method should I use when: (conditions) Such as: access limitations…

I am also experiencing this issue, but I had attributed it to the NPM 10.4 - I didn't attribute it to ESXi before, but I'll be following this thread. Orion Core 2012.2.0, SAM 5.2.0, IPAM 3.0, NPM 10.4, NTA 3.10.0, IVIM 1.5.0

There are a number of ways clearly indicated by solarwinds to ensure that you don't have a million sales calls, especially when downloading tools . See: A Better Download and Sales Experience for our Customers . This was from 2013 and tends to be fully implemented at this point. Basically, if you need them to back off or…

coping tdanner as maybe he has some good ideas of how to go from devicename (presumably the auto generated one) -> nodeID with a sql query.
-
zennifer It's about 100x more simple than that, so I suggest that OP ( john.b ) return to these basics specifically for SNMPv2 and then go from there. Here's output from my 3650 on the same IOS as I'm SSH'd in, in a lab env and I'm polling using Orion NPM 12.1. Polling with SNMPv2c and "enable 64 bit counters" checked.…

Maybe you can basically encourage them to be engaged - via asking them questions about alerts/warnings for those particular items? Like "hey, this is going off, is this important" etc? Appinsight for Exchange/SQL is incredibly useful and nothing in SCOM (which is really the only other tool targeted for these) is quite an…

So far I've seen this with all the new capacity forecast resources. Removing those fixed that for us, FYI cory.cousins

NTA was exactly one of the "other products" I was thinking of.
-
Hrm? Details? What are you doing with SAM re: powershell and AD management?
-
Yeah, same here with localhost and/or local\account.
