Heh, I'm trying to do the same with my Orion install but having issues with the Orion -> Service-now API....mostly that they want Orion to pull the info from Service-now instead of a push from service-now.

Let me summarize: RabbitMQ - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

You absolutely can do it with powershell. But outside of that you can use manage nodes to select a bunch.
-
aLTeReGo's advice is as specific as it can get kgalway, you're going to need people to start defining what applications and/or things they want monitored so you can assess what is needed to do so within Orion. Example: if they want IIS, Exchange or SQL? There's specific configuration needed for that. If they want something…

17777 or 17778? Only asking for sake of clarification vs the picture, even though when I am manually installing agents I'm seeing 17778 as you indicated.
-
jblankjblank I agree with your assessment of how triggering a lasso would be 100% fine - so long as there is a lasso button . It's really the same premise. I don't know if people complain about MS paint having a lasso, as a common application. The reason I mention the same about multiple selections is because how would I…

I've made a FR for this purpose as mesverrum points out.
-
Yes, it does. 802.11n though, so it's not AC unfortunately. Since my network is 100% AC for reasons of beamforming throughput, I now think I can understand why silverbacksays would want a dongle if it's for AC.

Dude, nooooo! jeremymayfield sandisk or bust for the microsd lol

settings has an option to turn off the auto dependencies if I recall correctly. Meanwhile if the parent/child isn't working then did something else get added as the parent?
-
I always watch a lot of the defcom stuff, but I did not read the CTF at Defcon that I recall? Reading now, seems like what I'd expect it to be I love learning and keeping up with that stuff, as well as keeping Schneier's blog and techdirt at the top of my RSS feed. Applebaum's defcom speech is probably a very useful…

Maybe you want to clarify on this that you'll see 10 SPAS sensors only when you upgrade to NPM 11 full and not NPM 11RC. I was on RC and didn't realize it was why I only saw 1 sensor.
-
This will affect our consideration of the NPM product line and solarwinds in general as well. We're happy to pay for more products if they fit our focus but core integration with an extra fee for part of the NPM experience isn't a good approach. What is the point of having netflow and/or web experience monitor if we're…

I'm not neman4ever but I personally would like to see that.
-
Well yeah, there is that but then of course we're full circle and away from my original plan of "do this without having to use SQL". It can be done if desired, though. SolarWinds NPM - Tutorial on how to use SNMP traps in alerts

aLTeReGo as I discussed with patrick.hubbard - it is obvious that such a scenario would work, and is what I am doing right now already. That is a workaround. However, there is no point in even having NAT or any form of port forwarding if we can't have the agent handle it properly. Basically, what can be done to stop the…

You shouldn't need V3 just to make it work (even if it's usually a good idea), john.b. Isn't Denali IOS XE? snmp-server host $ip $string should basically be it. Is your orion server monitoring said switch from the IP you specified as opposed to an additional polling engine (APE)? As long as you have access-list x permit…
-
With proper agent configuration, yes. Example (HP server with HP agent).
-
Meraki API vs SNMP are different, and they have different functions. I'd strongly advise you contact your sales engineer to get a better understand of how to do what you're looking for. Meraki AP's can be polled for more or less full information. You get a little less for AP's/SSID information with the API but direct…

Yeah I was going to say if you can view a template you could just copy the data. There are a bunch of warnings when you download templates to make sure you understand them/they're your own responsibility if this is of security concern, however.
-
yep, this is 100% credentials. It means your credential didn't work as mentioned.

"11.5" hasn't technically been released yet, it only became released as RC today. There are a lot of features involved, I'd look at the summary in this thread: NPM 11.5RC A lot of things in NPM 11.5 are a long time coming (web based alert management, mandatory custom properties), so if/when it is stable enough for your…
-
patrick.hubbard thought of you for tagging that idea I mentioned too. Up for the idea of showing how much time X feature request would need to be spent on to implement vs y feature? Maybe even on a 1-10 scale where 10 is "100% of our development resources"? etc. (see above)

So what do you see when you're searching from the manage nodes page (settings -> manage nodes) and search - either by IP or hostname. Have you also made sure the search results are set to nodes, not interfaces? Does anything show up in the search results as jamesatloop1 is suggesting?
-
I always expected this to be the case, but are you saying it allows *HTTPS* post now or only HTTP? That was an issue in the past.
-
In addition, if you're using...NPM 11 or 11.5 (I forgot which this started to appear), you can make this property mandatory so that the default option is DEV/Development (as the mandatory selection defaults to the first thing alphabetically), and thus servers will be DEV unless specified as PROD. Even better to ensure you…
-
What are you trying to show, though? Number of things and their status? I suppose I could see a pie chart for that if desired. Or just up/down? The latter is basically what a group is for. You can put a group onto a network atlas map and then there's your up/down.
-
That may be our plan going forward, ISE is being floated as a likely result.
-
echoing rschroeder as being exactly correct - bundles are cheaper, but it really depends on what you want to do with solarwinds. Depending on the environment and the scope for most businesses I would definitely suggest NPM NTA SAM as the first modules to focus on if possible, because they offer probably the largest amount…

In manage application is there no option to disable IIS logs? aLTeReGo might know if this can be modified at a template level or something else; otherwise appinsight monitors are mostly preconfigured/not modifiable aside from turning off a particular value from being collected.
