uniswtc​ You have done the right thing with the alert, you don't need to modify anything else. When the node goes down it'll mark the child object (such as a group) as unreachable. Which is what you want. You just want the down node to remain.

Noted, I imagine size is the differentiating factor here. We have probably between a tenth to a fifth of what you have, at most. However, how do you deal with the excess noise of SCOM? I had an issue with it being perhaps too granular.

rob schlick​ that means you're done successfully. You have to wait for cisco to process the data and come back to you with it. Then it'll also get processed again by smartnet and you can see it in smartnet. The download link will light up when all that is done.
