I must note that in defense of this request, it has more votes on it than any of the other issues for post NPM 10.6 .
-
bumping, it'd be nice to have this still.
-
mcam they do provide flow data, just not a source. That's literally the only issue. It's the same problem as with a 7k and with 3650/3850. They include almost everything needed, it's just how NTA processes the flow that's at issue.

bobmarley there is a search function on the right side which I find much easier. Go back to https://oriondemo.solarwinds.com/ui/maps/viewer/MAPS-5c9233a0-e2ea-4fe1-b03d-b720d919ac20 and there are two letters that might simplify this one. The search there is live, but you can also filter from there as well. jblankjblank…

Greenshot became my love because of how it looks and all their dialog options from the second you hit printscrn. Screenshot straight to application? Done! Also has more languages available than most, which was a requirement on my last job.

You can request an IP to be assigned *to* a subnet, but are you trying to script asking for, say, an entire /24 for example? I find this intriguing. Is this a common request?

Accidentally filled out week 2 question 1 successfully but didn't finish typing my username/my old username. Considering I changed it recently, that means all of week 1 questions were under my old username too. DanielleH can you help ensure they are flagged with this username? I just realized last month may have been…

Self driving cars don't mean you lose the chance to drive. It means you get to choose when you want to do which. Boring stretch of highway? Self drive. Want to go see the leaves? Drive yourself. Simple/solved.

I do wonder where this is at, obviously it requires some sort of frontend but it would definitely compete with how MS does some of their provisioning.

I like this article a lot. It's a solid set of guidelines that everyone can benefit from. To point out the last question: "Do you think we should get formal training in troubleshooting?": This is a nice idea but this is a bit of something that tends to be hands on. I'm not sure there's really an alternative, half the time…

so I hear meech is working on this, huh wluther?
-
I'll say! I enjoyed all the presentations and brought plenty as well! It was great meeting everyone I got a chance to speak with, and hope everyone is able to get their teams to sign up for thwack and get more community help going forward.

I don't know if that's a cobrien or jvb type of FR, but it would be nice if they (or UX) would look into this for certain.
-
Intentional/unintentional, the result is the same. The sad part is I suspect there are actual $$ costs to this still occurring.
-
boo, I totally missed this. @"ccousineau" let me know if you ever try to gather more on this.
-
this...could be a problem. Hope it's an easy fix.
-
Given the lack of a renewal across the modules (when you recertify) I think asking people to stay current on their NPM cert is basically all you should reasonably be able to expect unless you want people to be taking cert tests all the time.
-
My ears perked up with Prometheus. So with Prom pulling in the data, I too would have thought @"JaiMehra" would want solarwinds to query the prom DB. Otherwise the "why?" question seems to be pretty apparent here.

chiming in late as someone who has been certified more than once, and the first time I let it lapse: They are worth doing, but it's also confirmation you know what you know.

To provide a longer form of what @"adam.beedell" said: 1. Suppose we are monitoring a node using ICMP, and the polling intervals are set to 120 seconds. Then, How many packets are sent and received during this 120-second polling interval? 1 when UP, any failed ping becomes @"adam.beedell" 's 1 as referenced 2. Suppose we…

might want to say he/she there, I didn't see any sort of pronouns

sadly, the demo does too. lol.

would it be more appropriate to alert of these are *low* memory, IE: something is not running that you expect to?
-
The issue with dependencies here *normally* should be groups. Isnt' the intent to be switch -> all the AP's? If so the group should be the AP's and the dependency is switch -> (AP group) ? 1:many dependencies are a thing. Otherwise, I'd think the advanced criteria option in an alert can add an unrelated node if it's…
-
logically it makes sense, but considering there's also separate alert levels anyway for escalation it would be easy to miss if this were leveraged. maybe I'll write up a swql for it if something in schema displays this toggle
-
@"kenyamson" be extremely conscious of the impact of this sort of alert. You could very quickly veer into turning solarwinds into noise and blow up your effectiveness, unless this is the highest level of critical alert. If someone's going to an ignore an alert, sending it > 1 time is going to guarantee they're going to…
-
support will always be hit or miss.. Echoing @"HerrDoktor" on that. Don't be afraid to escalate if you feel it justifies escalation, it's why it exists.

as the wise old monitoring Shakespeare says I would posit: to agent, or not to agent, is the question. Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer The polls and queries of WMI, Or to take agents against a sea of troubles and by opposing end them? The answer is that everything about having the option means you should…
-
I have to genuinely question the intent to ensure what you want. Are these intended for if they occur at the same time or is this a general criteria? do you want to alert on the node in question being in warning/critical? If the latter you could do this with a single alert (or 2 at most, one for warnings and one for…
