Doh, I submitted a bunch on every month under my current thwack ID as opposed to username I'll use my username going forward though, thank you!

That's a nice concept when you have a mature environment with the resources for it. Sometimes folks aren't in those environments and saying "well, storage is cheap!" isn't even an option.
-
If you have an API, generally speaking solarwinds *can* poll it - this would just make it easier.
-
I'll respond here for brevity: have you tried installing an agent into your azure VM's or does it have to run as SAAS? As an alternative, in the past I had to do azure VM's -> agent -> agent proxy -> proxy running within same azure cloud -> onprem solarwinds install. It worked as if it was entirely onprem. So I was able to…

I'm conflicted about this because our infosec teams wants alerts on this but it's not in the current version of NTA. jreves we should talk about this some more, requests for this are intensifying despite potential future state discussion
-
sounds like your jam :)
-
Yep, this is coming for us as well. I like the ASA stuff and this is going to be crucial going forward.
-
I would consider it basically a function of them, more or less.
-
Wait, your company lets you access the entire internal network on your phone?
-
I think you may be the only one who caught my joke lol

I can see how this kinda mirrors a bit of what opgenie is doing but it still has a lot of value to be put into NPM directly even with OpsGenie being available separately.
-
The funny thing is, this is perpetual and will remain so - because nobody's ever going to ask a tech about how to make tech more accurate for a movie
-
Still no mini hubble
-
I would think this probably applies to every part of IT, not even specifically federal IT - you need to have some generalist skills and you need something you are really good with. Otherwise lots of things will tend to have issues - how can you develop/architect a solution to something if you don't know about the things…

cobrien in my case I'm doing netpath directly to our MPLS provider's SIP trunk. They discard all non-stop/non ICMP traffic at the final hop. I can provide screenshots if you want via email. Honestly netpath is new and so everyone's understanding of both the goal and the function are probably still subject to evolve…

Eh, those things aren't a concern with proper VLAN tagging and a proper firewall. Nothing like that gets out Security cameras tend to be far too insecure for me to even consider high end.

As with any tech company, they can't really release the details until everything is finalized. In this case in specific as I told rschroeder before, this is something they're looking at but they can't give us a 100% guarantee or a timeline until it is 100% going to happen. They've have ideas but budgets/priorities could…

cobrien with respect to complexity; I see no reason why both are not desirable. On the one hand you have better out of the box alerts; maybe better examples (canned alerts are nice but with limitations) . On the other hand you have better granularity with scheduling of alerts; much like what was in alert central and…

I have talked to jpetkevich about switches using different upgrade verbs depending on method, I'd love to see full on stack support
-
I'll be testing in the coming weeks - it was support that advised me to make this FR in the first place, prior to all this
-
Actually, even google is not stupid. They warn people a billion times please do not tresspass/violate property lines for pokemon. Meanwhile, it still happens.

Many statements have been made about this CIA mess but I found a lot of interesting analysis at WikiLeaks Releases CIA Hacking Tools - Schneier on Security
-
I have indeed been doing the same, stanuszekj. They do quite well.

I see two distinct and immediate benefits for perfstack. 1: abstracting employees away from reports for things they just want to look at once (or reference every so often) without it continually being run as a sql report. 2: hopefully enabling people to also pick a dataset and a group of nodes or equivalent to measure it.…

Nah, it's enlightening anyway. I'm not as great with IIS admin stuff but it gives me an idea of what people are doing. Also makes me wish I understood why our Orion website responds so freakin slowly. Appinsight for SQL takes like 15-30 seconds (although I recognize it's a lot of data)

maria.bungau I'm sure you're having loads of fun with fixing this - most survey urls' seem to be working except question 17 for me (fyi)
-
Ideally, but there are limitations within this concept - IE: not everyone follows LEAN 100%. Sometimes it's just an objective, and if people can't define that objective then it's just another piece of flair to put your CV.

Compatibility is a hard requirement, not an option. The other thing is "competitive pricing", which wasn't mentioned.

ecklerwr1 The funny thing is that you *can* use these kinds of things on custom alerts, but it basically makes every OOTB alert fail; plus it's generally not the best UX when you consider someone may put their name in and have to find a support article about how you can't just blank the email address once you've put it…
