Maybe the hang is somehow tied to the remote server you're connecting to. Can you reproduce the hang when connecting to the SolarWinds demo server? Demo login info can be found here: Serv-U Online Demonstrations What remote server are you connecting to (i.e., Serv-U file server, FileZilla server, or something else)? Are…

Can you open a support ticket for this issue? We might be able to provide a quicker resolution that way.
-
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I'll submit a bug report to SolarWinds b/c I can also reproduce the crash that occurs when trying to use the official Microsoft ODBC SQL Server driver on CentOSv6.5. BTW - I've found these instructions very helpful when trying to setup your environment (Welcome to the Microsoft…

Unfortunately, I haven't had any luck in reproducing this issue on my Win7/8 VMs. These are stock VMs without any additional software installed. Could it be possible that an Anti-Virus or some other program is interfering with FTP Voyager? If possible, it may be beneficial to open up a support ticket with SolarWinds…

What's your current configuration (e.g., Windows 2003 w/ Active Directory or Linux w/ OpenLDAP)?
-
There's a couple of other options to check: * Does the machine that Serv-U is running on have anti-virus software? This may interfere with the data that comes in after the 2GB limit is reached. For example, if the AV software is scanning that file after the 2GB have been uploaded, then Serv-U may not be able to open the…

Putting IE11 into "Compatibility Mode" will exhibit the same behavior too.

It looks like you already did this, but the next step I would take is checking the system for any "User Added" events that would be set at the server, domain, group, and/or user level; not forgetting to look the user or group templates to see if the event is configured there. If you find two "User Added" events, doing the…

Would you mind opening a support ticket with SolarWinds about this particular issue? It would be helpful to keep track of this and then post the Support Ticket # back into this thread.

Have you tried a manual "Home Directory" setting for the default LDAP Group in Serv-U? Under "Domain | Groups | LDAP Groups", click on the button "Configure Default LDAP Group" and specify a "Home Directory" and it's corresponding "Directory Access" rule. That may allow LDAP users to log in successfully, but it will…

Serv-U does contain a mechanism for tracking transfer statistics, it's not a full-blown audit/reporting tool, but it may get the job done without having to write your own script to pull data out of the log files. Take a look at the "User & Group Statistics" tab under the "Domain Activity" section. Here, you can view…

I'm glad to hear that's all it was

These may be of some use. I found them in the help documentation. %USER%, %HOME%, %USER_FULL_NAME%, and %DOMAIN_HOME%

Please start out by investigating the Mac restrictions that may be imposed when running Java applications: a) Safari might be blocking the applet; refer to http://www.serv-u.com/kb/2151/Web-Client-Pro-Does-Not-Launch-on-Safari-7. b) Mac OSX might be blocking the applet; refer to…

You can provide more granular control by setting up the "Upload" event at the user or group levels. For example, use separate Serv-U users to categorize your districts and then add an event to each one that fires an email to the district it represents. - or - Setup multiple events that act on the "Upload Complete" trigger…

You are essentially creating a self-signed certificate when using the Serv-U creation dialog. Your company may already have an SSL certificate that is validated by a Certificate Authority (CA) that you can use. Otherwise, SU provides you with a CSR file that you can 'optionally' send to a CA for verification of your newly…

I think this was fixed in v14.0.0.6 of Serv-U. Located within the Serv-U release notes: - Corrected a Web Client and login page bug where Serv-U would not work with IE 10.0 (Windows 8).
-
Unfortunately, this functionality is not in the currently released product. This was reported as a feature request, so please check back often to see if a new software update includes this functionality.
-
There might be a possibility that your user permissions don't allow it. Please verify your user has the "Append" permission set and it may require the "Delete" permission as well. See attached image for details. NOTE: This would have to be setup by your Serv-U System Admin.
-
Best practice is to use the Serv-U Event mechanism to get notified of when a successful transfer has taken place. You can then configure the event to run an external program on that file (or do other tasks like send an email).
-
It would be nice if we could narrow this down to a certain area of the software that might be causing this hang. This happens on Windows 7 as well? Does it only happen when connecting to a certain server? What happens if you launch the app without any tabs open and then close? What happens if you launch the app, again…

Are you tied to a database? If so, make sure the DB is not being used by multiple levels (e.g., same DB is defined at the server and domain level or two domains are using it).
-
We're attempting to reproduce this issue and I'll keep you posted on our findings.

If you are referring to the June 5th, 2014 disclosure, CVE-2014-0224, please see the information posted here: http://www.serv-u.com/kb/2163/Is-My-Serv-U-Installation-Affected-by-the-SSL/TLS-MITM-OpenSSL-Vulnerability?

Unfortunately, the current release of Serv-U does not have the audit/reporting functionality that you're looking for. There is an alternative but it would require some work. You could send the data you're looking to collect to a file using the "Log" mechanism of Serv-U. Log files can be configured at the server, domain,…
-
As a first step, check the Serv-U logs to see if it's something that Serv-U might be doing wrong. NOTE: A few days ago, Microsoft released their 2nd Tuesday of the month patches, which your OS may download and install automatically. There's also news that Windows XP is EOL, so that may be the last time you receive any…

You can do this by setting the following limits to "No" for: * "HTTP" | "Allow users to use Web Client" (User/Group/Domain/Server levels) * "HTTP" | "Allow users to use Web Client Pro" (User/Group/Domain/Server levels) * "HTTP" | "Allow users to use FTP Voyager JV" (User/Group/Domain/Server levels) * "File Sharing" |…

I would try to use the events in Serv-U to do that. You can setup an event when a user is disabled that will run a batch script that will delete the files. Be careful with this approach b/c you only want to delete the file path if it is unique to each user. For example, in the screenshot below I'm assuming the %HOME%…

The add-on you're looking for is for FTP Voyager v15. If you're using v16, you're out of luck.

This issue is a result of the new Java Runtime Environment (v1.7.0_65) adding some more security restrictions. If you need immediate access, you can downgrade the JRE until an official fix is published by SolarWinds.
