  • The SMTP settings can be configured at the server or domain levels. Another area to look is on the "File Sharing" tab under the "Domain or Servers - Limits and Settings" section. If SMTP settings are not setup, then an informational message is displayed at the bottom with a direct link to configure it. Other things to look…
  • There is a known issue with passing Linux command-line parameters using Serv-U Events. If you're an existing customer, please checkout the latest RC (http://thwack.solarwinds.com/thread/65340) that can be found in the SolarWinds Customer Portal. This should allow you to pass the parameters to the shell script if you…
  • It depends on the version of OpenSSL that was running on Serv-U at that time. According to the release notes, the version of OpenSSL for Serv-U 7.2.0 was v0.9.8h.
  • I believe the NAT router (along with the Serv-U column title) is confusing us here. Since the NAT router is mapping the "public IP" to a "private IP" you need to use that for the Gateway's "Public IP Address" field so the listeners can bind to that IP address. See attached screenshot for details
  • Hi Kevin, You may have to configure your router to also forward the port that Serv-U is listening on. Make sure this Serv-U listener is either HTTP or HTTPS. NOTE: A lot of ISPs block certain ports, you may be able bypass that by having Serv-U listen on a higher port number (e.g., port 8080 instead of 80). Then, you would…
  • Can you add a screenshot for context?
  • There are a couple of ways to establish a connection to a remote server: 1) use the Site Profile 2) use the Quick Connect settings.
  • Can you upload a small file to that same remote directory without any problems?
  • You'd be better off submitting a feature request to SolarWinds to have them include some solution that will allow you to do this. This would be extremely difficult to do manually since the web client files are not styled in a normal html format. Plus, if you ever upgrade Serv-U, you might lose your changes.
  • If you're using the Serv-U or ODBC users/groups, setup the user template as a member of the group you want all your users to be a member of. That way, when new users are created, they are automatically added to that group.
  • Can you open a support ticket for this issue? Trouble-shooting something of this nature will require more communication and it may lead to a quicker resolution of the issue.
  • Within the "User Properties" dialog, make sure "Lock user in home directory" is selected. That should prevent any access above the home directory for that user. Also double-check that the "Home Directory" is "/ftproot" and that the "Directory Access" is only allowed for that directory and nothing above it.
  • a) If you're physically relocating the servers and changing their IP addresses, then Serv-U will not require a new registration key, but there could be some configuration issues that need to be addressed. For example, problems directly related to IP address changes could be related to: ODBC database is no longer…
  • What's the intended purpose of the test? Are looking for something like a Serv-U Event that will notify you when an upload/download is complete? Or are you looking for some sort of batch script that can detect if a file is being written to?
