We're working on another issue that throws this OutOfMemoryException. We believe that it has to do with the database being tied up at this point, so your reporting also a deadlock seems to fit with the scenario. It would help us if you could provide us with a diagnostics dump. I'll send you a private email on Thwack about…

Have any of you seen this with our Beta? I believe that this issue may be fixed with the beta. We really had some funky things going on in the charting engine with the current release of the product.
-
My mistake, I meant only turn off NetBIOS resolution.
-
Now, it will be considerably slower, if you upgrade without the latest service pack. The tech support represenative may have forgotten to give you the latest SP. Thanks, David
-
We have been testing our new unreleased version 3.0 with Extreme devices and currently do not have outstanding issues against that device. The release is due very soon. Thanks,
-
Your problem is looking to be more involved. You can either try using Process Monitor like I mentioned above to find out more of what's happening and/or call Tech Support. They can walk you through solving it. Thanks, David

Glad we could help. I meant to post these instructions here as well as back to our tech. support. At least you got them. :D This is one important point to remember for the community. Mapped drives won't work now that the TFTP Server is a service. I'll be sure to log an issue which for future versions detects (at least in…

Also, a PCAP (sniffer trace - WireShark) during that same time period would definately help resolve this.

The Network-Monitor.cfg file is actually an Access database file. Microsoft Access has a 2GB limit. This may be what you are running into. Can you rename the file to Network-Monitor.cfg.mdb (adding the mdb extension) and open it in Microsoft Access? If it is running into the 2GB limit, you'll need to adjust your nightly…

This table can safely be truncated, but then you'll only be able to search for IP addresses who are involved in traffic after that point in time. What I mean, by that is a search in the "Search NetFlow Endpoint " resource, won't come up with results until the NTA collector receives new traffic for that particular…
-
Yes, we're not suprised on this end. We didn't have much time in SP1 to address the performance and as a result the performance was still about the same.
-
By dividing the database in filegroups, it allows SQL Server a lot more freedom in how it grows these different files. It also gives customers who are seeking to improve their performance further, the ability to move these filegroups on different diskdrives. Finally, one customer request that we've seen, is for all there…

Thanks for the info. If you have any further issues, let us know. Thanks,

If you have a log message from the 'SolarWinds.Orion.NetFlow.Migration.MigrationDatabaseHelper' component that says that the migration was aborted, then the migration won't try to start again until you restart the serve. If you could attach your swdebug.log file to this thread then, I can take a quick look and see if it…

These exceptions from the Event log look to come from the "SolarWinds Alerting Engine" service. But they probably occured for the same reason that the NTA service crashed. If you look in the NTA install directory (by default C:\Program Files\SolarWinds\Orion\NetFlowTrafficAnalysis) and look through the swdebug.log files,…

We should have the service pack out very soon, it is currently in testing and it addresses this issue. Can you run the SQL Server Profiler for a minute or so and attach that to this thread? I would like to make sure that our fix to the service addresses your issue. Thanks,
-
I'm seeing the same thing if I make up traffic coming from your domain. Let me look into this more.

Today the new version of NTA 3.1 was released to the customer portal. You can download it from there. Thanks, David
-
Under the NTA Settings, in the "Manage Applications and Service Ports" view, the left pane of the page entitled "Views", has a view for "Disabled Applications". Click that. But after thinking about it, you aren't probably looking for that, are you? Are you looking for this list plus a list of ports that aren't associated…
-
Yes, sorry about the delay. The event log error that you are receiving is not like the issue that we've seen and have a workaround for. Please enter a case with support. Thanks, David
-
We have just released NTA 3.1. For performance reasons and as a comprimise to your request, we decided to put the NTA tables that contain significant amounts of data into separate filegroups. You can move these filegroups to separate harddrives. Is that at all helpful to you? Thanks, David
-
What you are seeing is the NTA service performing NetBIOS lookups in addition to the DNS lookups. This was a customer request for 3.1. We understand your concern here and are considering the ability to turn off DNS resolution in a future service pack. Due note: We do have the ability to turn off all IP endpoint resolution…

Can you describe your scenario in detail? So, I assume the TFTP service is successfully started and doing a "netstat -an" shows that its listening on UDP port 69. Is there a firewall in software (OS or 3rd party) on the box with the TFTP server? From the LAN environment statement, I assume there is nothing on the network…

My mistake, I was thinking that you needed help on an evaluation version of the NetFlow module that comes with Orion. I'll see if who can help you out here at SolarWinds. Thanks, David
-
That is a fair amount. To give you an idea, in our stress testing, we begin our lowest tests with 9000 PDUs per second and go up from there. Of course it all depends, mainly on your SQL hardware and if this is just for one node, it wouldn't take many before you would get into a "stressed" situation. (Assuming your SQL…

Yes. That has been the main focus of this next release. Thanks,
-
One last note, if you change the title to 'Top XX Global Active Alerts', the XX will get replaced on the resource and you'll get something like ''Top 25 Global Active Alerts'.
-
Nope, can't hurt. ;)
-
Great, glad to hear it. But you won't need to concern yourself about upgrades. This fix is now in the codebase and will be in the next release of EOC. Thanks, David
-
Yes, apply SP2 and then it should try to run through the Config Wizard again. If that doesn't do it, then you'll need to call support. Thanks, David
