Well my first question is how much CPU and Memory usage does your NPM Server average? I personally think that your current NPM Server would be enough to handle the traffic load. Eugene, I have the same issue in my network. A quick work around that i found that works for me is to rediscover it in the Orion System Manager. After performing this task i dont have an issue with the unknown status again unless something changes like the snmp string or something.
