This is desperately needed. Having to log into each of my controllers and generate an inventory list is a pain when you have a hundred controllers. Also, please make sure that the Serial Number is returned FROM THE CHASSIS and not the PCB.

There needs to be some amount of remediation for this issue. It is problematic for a multitude of reasons.
-
Does this still not work? What's the deal? Seems like it would make it a lot easier for us if we could exclude internal networks only to look at external-bound traffic.

this is asinine, its a simple SQL query. Run a count, write the number to a database field. Run the count the next day, if that number is bigger than the old number then trigger an alert.

It would be great if this thread wasn't abandoned. It is 2019 and I'm using NCM 7.7 and this is still a nightmare to use. I'm considering just creating custom fields for each item and building my own report. I'll echo what has been said above - * Where are you getting these suggested dates? They are almost always wrong.…

Groups can have other groups but they can't have a group of which the parent is a member - that's where my problem is. The need to make a group of child devices (which is then hanging off a parent dependency) and another group of all the site devices (so that all the devices in one location are under one place) is…

Not OP but, for us, the reason we don't use dependencies is because of the number of devices/locations/changes within our network. Dependencies are set up in a counter-intuitive manner from my perspective. Instead of being able to Dynamically create a group and pick which item is the parent and which are the children, you…

I build a report that does something similar. It runs every 2 weeks and kicks back a list of devices that have been offline for 20+ days. It returns the Device name, IP, Contact, Location, and last seen date/time. I had to write it in SQL because I couldn't figure out how to get the report writer to do date comparisons. So…

Same issue for me. The reports are emailed as PDFs in the middle of the night. I tried adjusting the time thinking it was running during db maintenance or something like that but it still did it. I scaled down the source data on the report to a single interface (so that there was less data to load) and it still did it. I…

Did you ever get this fixed? This is my issue right now. I let this thing run all day and eventually get the same error. Since I have 1000 items in my network, I expect it to be slow but it makes troubleshooting difficult because of the scope of the environment. Does anyone have a fix here?

The best way I could suggest you do this is to have an excel sheet as your master circuit list that is maintained by your Circuit team that contains the provider, provider contact, CircID, site name, address, hours, contacts, etc. Use SQL to parse the Excel sheet info and drop it into a custom fields in Solarwinds. Maybe…

Im having a similar issue. I have hundreds of "sites" that are all set up as groups dynamically assigned by their custom property site. Each of my groups is set to show BEST status (as opposed to yours). The idea behind the alert being, when the Group is Up but a Group Member is anything other than Up, throw an alert. I am…

Did you ever get this resolved? I'm having the same issue where an NCM download is stuck in the initializing state. It won't finish or quit so I can't change the template to something that works and try again.
