Support had us upgrade VIM to 7.0 (was a separate download that I don't see in the Portal), and that resolved the error. We don't have VMAN, so VIM was the piece we needed to upgrade.

Thanks. Looks like I need to browse Content Exchange more.

[string] $successLoginText = "New Message" That looks like PowerShell code. The monitor I'm using is "HTTP Form Login Monitor" and it doesn't have a script that I can see. The closest thing I can see is a "Login Success Regular Expression" option. Is there a newer version of this monitor I should be using, or is there a…

It needs HF2 for NCM 7.4.1? The notes for it don't mention anything about this. Also, what address should we send the Connector log files to?
-
The "least privilege user account" ">aLTeReGo mentioned above should work.

Well the internal wouldn't use the proxy; so it being a proxy issue goes along. According to the docs, there are three likely causes: * time skew between the ADFS and proxy servers * proxy unable to verify certificate CRL * proxy not able to build certificate chain Given what you're saying about them having been setup a…

Is the credential you're using for this machine in SAM a member of the Administrators group on the Win7 PC? Do you have any comfort/proficiency with PowerShell? Other wise wbemtest will be your friend to make sure the Orion server can talk to that PC over WMI with the specified credential. Are the 3 missing services you…

That makes it a bit easier. Are you using the MSI based Office versions or do you also have some of the click-to-run? As far as how to actually create the rules in Patch Manager, I'm afraid I can't be much help as I don't use that product.

Ok. I assume you're running the 64-bit version of WebHelpDesk then? In whd.conf, what are set for the following parameters: IP_ADDRESS URL_DEFAULT_PORT DEFAULT_PORT Is the Windows Firewall enabled?

Thanks.

Yep; I tried running it that way and it seemed to run fine. No errors and it returned data.

Looks like there is an official document up now: Upgrade WHD on a Linux virtual appliance - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support

You can do 'Get-Help Invoke-SWISVerb' but it's a bit sparse. The main things are: SWISConnection should be a variable from a 'connect-swis' EntityName is the bit on the left in SWQL Studio (aka Orion.Nodes) After the -Verb parameter will be a set of the required parameters and their values (derived from SWQL Studio).…

The username is admin and it should be the web admin interface password. If that doesn't work, try the default password of 'admin' And yeah, I have no idea on the root password (as it appears to be auto-generated) but since admin can sudo you don't really need it.

Well, a tcp port monitor will check to see if the port is open and accepting connections. If the port isn't open or otherwise rejects the connection an alert will fire. You can also use a process monitor to make sure that the program that runs on the port is running.

Considering that 2012R2 is deprecating SNMP it's probably a good idea to move away from it.
-
What you want is the "SolarWinds NCM Configuration Wizard"

Looks at my Thwack point total. The spree my wife would go on with that much Amazon credit... <shudder>

After logging into the CMC, choose 'Chassis Overview' on the left hand pane, and then 'Network > Services' on the top bar. You'll see an option for SNMP.
-
Sure. What's the best way to send the walks? The attach button seems like a good idea. Attached are the mib walk of the CMC and the .MIB file from Dell.
-
That was my suggestion, but they weren't too keen on that option. I checked with SolarWinds support, and there isn't currently a way to change the font, although they did log it as a feature request. In the interim, guess just need to tell them to get reading glasses.

I will point out that the WBEM providers are best if you're using WMI for polling as the "HP Management Agent" set requires SNMP.
-
In the credential store do you have it as DOMAIN\USERNAME?
-
We were able to get single-signon working using HTTP Headers and Apache. This required Apache and WebHelpDesk on Windows. I used the info here: Help Desk Software Forums by Web Help Desk - Single Sign On Setup

I can pull and send logs from our VCSA 6.5U1d box if you're still seeking.

I've already got most of that setup but the tutorial helped a bit. Still have some remaining issues though: Battery capacity is very useful as a radial gauge. However, I want to reverse the red/green on it. It should show green from say 80-100, yellow from 79-30, red from 29-0 for example. Once I know how to do that, I can…

I haven't seen anything beyond the Thwack posts about the beta.

Yes, it's on the 'Orion Website Administration' page in the 'Node and Group Management' section.
