Not sure if jamming more passwords into my head will work well now, much less when I become a senior citizen. I especially hate the ones where you only log in once a year to take some training, and the immensely complex password combined with 365 days passing makes it utterly pointless.

Believe that would get many of us fired.

disclaimer--I got the right answer...but (very big but) Since the graphic shows two root causes, wording the question this way might have been more straightforward. Espcially since the text on the graphic states 'Is it the network, the applications, or the infrastructure that needs troubleshooting, or a combination?' Pick…

Ah yes, a 10 minute video with no transcript.

Is that unusable now? What would a modern version look like? I haven't coded since school and have not needed to do much scripting. The scripting I did was for getting configs to a Linux server, and was changed as environmental changes broke it.

The BYOA approach jumps out at me as a huge risk. But then if you search the data going to and from social media and email, you can hopefully find/ intercept/ stop sensitive information from leaving. This assumes the users are on WiFi or cabled connection. What if the device someone brings has telemetry enabled (thank you…

The options were no unscheduled pto, less then 3 days pto, and written reprimand. Problem is you need to hit like 6 days of unscheduled pto to hit the…

Regarding infection by mouse hovering, I'm hoping that Privoxy can help or be developed further to be helpful. My initial search to see if it currently can does not look promising. It can deanimate GIFs and prevent un-minimizable (yes I made this word up) popup windows, so I would hope that functionality materializes. If…

Does anyone really watch 40 minute videos with their full attention? Or do you skip to the part that you think answers the question, if you can even find it, and then make an educated guess? This would be a good thwack poll. I expect my employer wouldn't find it a good use of my time, and my lunch hour tends to get used…

Gotta love the discrepancy between 'I know this is the answer' and 'if I check the boxes I think they want me to check (which answers inaccurately), then I can win something'. I have to say I usually select the answer that might win me something, even if the prizes seem more fitting for someone my son's age and I don't…

Oh well...that keyboard was probably the Opti-Grab of keyboards anyway.

It's only 50 minutes and 43 seconds. I'm sure your employer won't mind. In all seriousness, just when I think it can't get more ridiculous, it does. This is a race to the bottom.

In thinking about burnout, I just realized that some unforeseen contract issues that scared me and left me in need of a new job have each been a huge benefit. Landed on my feet/ better employer/ better benefits. It's like studying for a certification that someone tells me is required and without it I will be let go. Huge…

We don't currently do capacity planning via SolarWinds, but my leadership pointed it out as a reason they like NPM 11.5.

Obviously Office Space could be redone a few times...if done correctly. I don't think that would grow old.

The CERT Division | SEI | CMU Also (ISC)2 resources, as the articles and associated quizzes can be used for continuing education credits.

So many of these questions have answers that are obviously wrong without even reading hints. Between test taking skills, dumb luck, and trial-and-error, lack of hints wasn't too much of an obstacle. I figured I would forget to do the quizzes, so I took the low road and brute-forced it before the hints were available.

When automation takes away your job, this would be a good parting gift: https://despair.com/products/innovation or https://despair.com/products/adaptation or https://despair.com/products/made-in-usa-by-robots or https://despair.com/products/motivation Yeah, that's pretty much my favorite website.

I know coding. Unfortunately, I don't think they are using Pascal, Logo, Fortran, or Basic where I work (or perhaps anywhere).

In so many cases, the videos are blocked from work, so educated guesses/ flipping a coin/ searching the answer from a document/ web page is required. Even if I wanted to use my phone, I would have to SPRINT outside since my cell phone reception is horrendous.

csim start <phone number> for CME was quite helpful when I last needed it (2006). Assuming it's still an available hidden command in Cisco IOS. Performs call setup and rings a phone (assuming the number is reachable). (Also a really useful command to drive your coworkers nuts.) Cisco IOS debug commands were also quite…
