Maybe Print dialog and then hopefully you have a PDF option. I think having to use only IE would aggravate the crap out of me. Bad enough I have to use Windows at work.

I'll probably never know the answer to that. The environment is too large.

&&PRINTABLE=TRUE appended to the URL and then printing from the browser could be a quick and dirty workaround. NPM 12.2 Release Notes - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support The Export to PDF button is no longer available. SolarWinds recommends that you use the Save as PDF functionality built into your browser.

I once did this to populate a system that needed to temporarily monitor hundreds of nodes it couldn't yet reach: add secondary IP addresses on my SolarWinds server's NIC for each and every node I wanted to add, they then became reachable, and I was able to add them. Later I converted to SNMP-monitored via database changes…

There are a few feature requests created for this (feel free to vote). Don't believe it's possible at this time. (Perhaps I'm wrong though...) https://thwack.solarwinds.com/ideas/3361 https://thwack.solarwinds.com/ideas/4417

Do you have the SAM module? The red dot icon next to the out of range temp was a big hit where I used it. Hint--set a low threshold temporarily for test purposes.

I saw a post where a simple string like 123456 for both authentication and encryption worked for someone else. Not ideal but curious if that actually makes a difference.

Thanks katieb and maria.bungau.

You can monitor by DNS and NPM will learn the new IP. That would be transparent. Additionally, if it were me, I would like visbility into the device(s) involved with the decision. I would show that as well, by monitoring the appropriate MIB and/or syslog/ traps involved with the switching over.
-
Unless I'm missing something, you could monitor the node by DNS and alert when the IP changes, assuming every change needs to be seen and it's not round robin/ constant.

rob.hock, that's huge. My customers will love that. I've got SQL code everywhere that tries to calculate that metric. Waiting patiently until the right crisis justifies moving to 11..5

">ralphpost As I understand your question, this can be done. Can you make a copy of Node Details view and name it appropriately (HP Blade Enclosure Node Details View)? Make desired customizations there. Then navigate Admin --> Views --> Views by Device Type Find your HP blade enclosure and choose the web view you created…

Agent will need to be reachable via its TCP port. Think of it that way.

We haven't established that shaun_9999 has the SAM module. The fact that this was posted in NPM suggests otherwise. We've asked, but not gotten that important detail. (We being @m_roberts and I )

Glad that worked for you malasherv . You can use this approach if the web interface is not cooperating with you. Just realize that modifying/ deleting via the database should be undertaken with some caution. I usually craft a query (select from where...) so that I see only the rows I am concerned with. Then with only…

A report can be in a view that you create. A view can be specified for a user's account or a group of users accounts. Why is a report not acceptable? If you modify the report I referenced to be limited by a start date custom property and an end date custom property, those properties could be edited as necessary.

Or a cool SWQL query that someone else has crafted, needing only minimal customization. When I had queries stop working between versions, I quickly became a fan on SWQL.

Thanks for the links. I had seen them. The requirement to be on the Alerts page (subject to web page refresh) in one case and not having a sound card connected to speakers and too far from users in the other case made those solutions not helpful for my scenario. If my customer is willing to run an audio cable from the…

Thanks Rob. Just what the doctor ordered. I believe this will meet our use case. If I thought you could commit to a date when this will be available, I would ask. Of course, you can't. This functionality will be a welcome addition for my customers.

From my experience running the Alert Manager as admin just once makes the latest properties reappear. This gets me every time.

If you know that certain nodes did work, and you know which SNMP credentials you used in the discovery, you can deduce which credentials work for which nodes. If you did 23 discoveries of the same nodes and each discovery had unique SNMP credentials, that would be one way to handle this.
-
You wouldn't have to proceed all the way through with onboarding disovered nodes. From the discovery results, you will know which ones worked and which ones didn't. If you know it worked on devices A, D, F, and G, then change those from ICMP monitoring to SNMPv3 using the discovery credentials. Leave devices B,C,E and…

From memory, I believe it's (Volumes.Caption <> 'VMFS%'). There are examples within the web interface filter editing dialog the last I tried. From Lada Varga's earlier post, that still seems to be the case.

My maps I inherited and created became too much to maintain in my rapidly changing environment...too many orphaned nodes. Management disliked any map object showing up if a child node was down...and now they get tree views/ dynamic queries populating groups/ SWQL queries/ anything but maps. As our sites are named…

Granular node management would be potentially helpful when gone for the night/ for the weekend. Someone who wouldn't normally have node management permissions could be allowed to add node/ unmanage/ delete note / some of these/ all of these.
