Turns out. This is not entirely correct. It appears that the Solarwinds LEM team is going to write us a special filter to be able to capture events that we write to the application log.

Thanks all. I understand the issue(s) you are describing, but in our case, the same system personnel will be administering both Forests, so its really not an issue for us. Does your process rely on the existence of SCCM or are only using WSUS? We currently only use WSUS to handle our MS patches. Would I also need to stand up a SCCM infrastructure to be able to push out third party updates via Patch Manager?

So if I label my custom entries as a "Warning," LEM should pick them up (even though my entries would not be the Microsoft default)?
