Let's move to NPM/Core space where basic hardware support is implemented. Jiri
-
Hi Craig Norborg, I've found out you had already opened a support case. I agree with the advice from the support rep -- try to force re-indexing. If that doesn't help then someone from engineering will investigate the problem. Regards, Jiri
-
Hi, Yes, please try the Passport device type. Regards, Jiri
-
Hi, Your question doesn't seem to be related to NCM. Moving to NPM space. Regards, Jiri
-
Hi, What version of NCM are you running? If you have 7.0, it's a known issue; you should upgrade to 7.1 and re-run node sync after that. However if you already are running 7.0.2 or 7.1, please open a support case. Regards, Jiri
-
Eric, That depends on the version of NCM. Up to NCM 7.2 (including), NCM used both the NPM database and an additional one. Starting NCM 7.3, NCM stores all data in NPM/Core database. Regards, Jiri
-
ptrivino, In the current release, 7.0.x (or below), you have to troubleshoot in the Win32 client. If you open the details page for a node here, you can test login information. Additionally, you can enable session tracing (File -> Settings) and try to download configs. BTW, are you able to connect to the switch manually,…

Hi Adam Shaw, How about ^! Last.*Joe$ ? (The question mark is not part of the regex.) Regards, Jiri

Hi prabath_anu, Looks like you are asking about configuration steps that must be performed on the Cisco devices. I suggest you ask on a Cisco forum. Do you have any questions for NCM? Regards, Jiri
-
Hi Steve, according to our dev team, it is not possible to save the running-conig to flash only if it has changed. Regards, Jiri
-
Hi Jhun, Do you mean access to the configs in NCM Web UI or to the stored ones in the DB? Regards, Jiri
-
Hi kdouglas1, Maybe what you are looking for is described in the following feature request: https://thwack.solarwinds.com/ideas/1182. But because this is a feature request, you need at least a workaround. I have two ideas: * Every time you need to run the report you must manually assign the node to the policy/policies.…

Hi NBS, That would be a feature request. Regards, Jiri

Hello Steve, We currently don't have a value like 'current' or 'active' for EoL dates. When you mark a device Ignored, the EoL/EoS feature ignores this device completely. You can always make the device unignored again. Regards, Jiri
-
Hi Dave, your feature request has been logged as #138396. Regards, Jiri
-
Hi stiflermt, You might test the credentials and take a look at the login session. This could give you a clue. Regards, Jiri
-
Good to hear it works . Actually, the credit goes to NCM engineering team. Jiri
-
Hi, Baselines can be currently set in the Win32 GUI (fat client) only, the Web UI doesn't include this functionality yet: . Win32 GUI is still part of NCM. Regards, Jiri
-
Hi reximus, Sorry for the delay. Does the problem still persist? My guess is that before the upgrade, you were running NCM on a different server than NPM. Starting NCM 7.3, you must run NPM and NCM on the same server if you want to integrate them. Regards, Jiri

All, Here is the procedure to sign up for and configure the Smart Advisor Total Care services that is a pre-prequisite for the NCM connector to work. Self-Service Onboarding - Get Access To Smart Net Total Care Portal | Smart Net Total Care | Cisco Support Community | 4… Jiri
-
All, Cisco confirmed that Smart Net Total Care (SNTC) is intended for end customers. Let me summarize the information that I received from Cisco regarding the "UserID is not valid" error. * There is no way to check your access level directly from outside. * If your are getting the error, you will need to go through the…

Hi Selspiero, Please enable session tracing (Settings -> NCM Settings -> Advanced Settings) and if you don't disclose the issue yourself, post the trace here. Don't forget to turn the session tracing off when you are done. Regards, Jiri
-
All, According to Cisco, being able to log in to this portal is not enough. Your CCO ID must have access level higher than 2 to be able to run the reports. I asked for more details -- how to determine the access level and how to increase it in case it's required. I'll share them as soon as Cisco lets me know. In addition,…

Are you able to log in to this portal? If not, you must register here: https://www.cisco.com/web/smartservices/sntc.html

Hi, I suppose you are using SRM Profiler module? SRM Orion module doesn't support IBM XIV. Jiri
-
Hi keevern, You can do it by creating an appropriate policy rule. See compliance/policy reports. Regards, Jiri

From Syslog AG: 3.3.5 Action - Forward to another host Retain the original source address of the message Normally, the syslog protocol is unable to maintain the original senders address when forwarding/relaying syslog messages. This is because the senders address is taken from the received UDP or TCP packet. The way Kiwi…

Hi, IronPort is a bit problematic. NCM can grab the config, but as the device has no option to disable pagination ("more" prompt), so some lines in the config may get broken. The alternative way would be transferring the config file via TFTP or SCP, but IronPorts can't do that, as far as I know. Regards, Jiri
-
Hi John Spanitz, Our engineering team suggests that you open a support case and provide session traces. The device behavior is unexpected. Regards, Jiri

Hi hnz980, That is a feature request: http://thwack.solarwinds.com/ideas/1024. We don't disclose our roadmap plans. Regards, Jiri
