Hi hority.hu, Have you contacted our tech. support? What is the exact issue? Regards, Jiri

Hi fmckechnie, We know about the problem with reports. The 60k line limit is limitation of Excel itself. However I agree that Web UI currently does not have the possibility to export with filters. You can achieve it in the Win32 client. Regards, Jiri

Hi, It's not available in 7.0.2 but this is one of the planned enhancements of 7.2. This version is currently in Beta phase -- you can join the beta program if you want. You can find the information here: Please let me know if you have further questions. Regards, Jiri

Hi , It's not the version of CatTools but the status of your SolarWinds maintenance contract that qualifies you for the upgrade. I haven't found you in our customer database. Could you please send me your SWID? You can contact me directly. Regards, Jiri

Hi, Are you able to download the configs in NCM on demand, i.e. not via the job? If not, please enable session tracing (Win32 client -> File -> Settings), try to download the config and take a look at the trace. Regards, Jiri

Hi nbs, Direct upgrade from NCM 7.1.1 to 7.3 is not supported when your NCM and NPM are not integrated. You have to go through 7.2, i.e. install 7.2.2 on your Orion/NPM server and point it to the old 7.1.1 DB. Then you must run node sync so that the 7.2.2 installation becoms integrated with NPM. Then you can upgrade to NCM…

Hi akhtarm, did you use the NCM Template Assistant? You can look at this video illustrating basic usage of the assistant. Make sure you enter the correct System OID and that the filename has the form <Description>-<System OID>.ConfigMgmt-Commands e.g. "Cisco 2621 XM test-1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.469.ConfigMgmt-Commands". Regards,…

Hi johnny ringo, We have the config details resource, but if you placed it e.g. on node details page, how would it know, which config to display? You can try playing with custom query/table resource. Regards, Jiri
-
Hi, It looks like a browser-dependent problem. When I copy the config from IE10 to Notepad, I get the extra lines. When I copy the same config from Chrome, the result in Notepad is clean. Regards, Jiri

It would be good to take an existing config change template and just change the content to the script above. Maybe you have an incomplete header or so. Regards, Jiri
-
Hi Frank, You can define it on policy level: Regards, Jiri

Hi extrands, NCM scripting is not able to take a look at the config. You might be able to achieve what you need with compliance/remediation, but this feature is not primarily meant for such config changes. Aren't you able to identify the interfaces according to some SNMP/inventory value? Regards, Jiri

Hi floatplan, If you upgraded to NCM 7.2.2, you should open a suport case. Regards, Jiri

Hi dhanson, It looks like the Orion account you are logged in under doesn't have enough NCM privileges. Edit the account and use NCM admin or Engineer role. Regards, Jiri

Hi ruskiyvolk, Please open a support case. Regards, Jiri

Hi, What exactly does it mean they are not working? They don't run at the specified time? If so, I suggest opening a support case. Regards, Jiri

Greetings from Brno :-), Yes, you can do it with User Device Tracker. You set up the 'White List' feature: http://thwack.solarwinds.com/community/solarwinds-community/product-blog/blog/2013/08/30/white-list-in-udt and then, using Advanced Alert manager, configure sending the email when a rogue device appears:…

Hi, Upgrade to 7.2.1 instead of 7.2 should resolve the issue. Regards, Jiri

Hi jckristin, I've looked at your ticket and I hope that the meeting today will shed more light on the root cause. If you feel that I could do something for you, please let me know. Regards, Jiri

Hi Ron, As you said, such details cannot be specified with NCM user roles. What you can do is limit the account to these two nodes. Does the device itself support various limitations for different login credentials? If yes, then you could create such credentials on the device and use them as user-level login credentials in…

Hi Whit, Thank you for your appreciation of our work. I can tell you we spent quite a lot of time on the design of the UI for Jobs. (That was in NCM 7.2 development.) The main reason for the wizard approach we selected is that the input values are dependent. Example: different job types have completely different parameters…

Hi, Here's what our engineering says: Attached is a sample query how to get all l2/l3 endpoint moves in the last 24 hours, this should give the idea how to make the report. However the question is whether to show just first or last move, or all of them (which may generate quite a big report), whether to show l2 or l3…

Hi, Actually you might achieve that with a config change template. The language includes conditions, to your template could look like if device A then command1 command2 endif if device B then command3 command4 endif .. (The actual syntax is different but I hope you can get the point. The devices can be distinguished by a…

Hi Andy, It's actually a feature request. You can vote here: http://thwack.solarwinds.com/ideas/1160. Regards, Jiri

Hi cnorborg, Thanks for the feedback. I've reproduced the same behavior with 7.3.2, so at least it's not regression problem. I agree it's something we could take a look in the next release. Regarding the ability to hide reports, policies etc. -- all the content that is built in is available on thwack. (Alternatively, you…
