Hi, I'm product manager for NCM. Sometimes the root cause cannot be found. As you said -- if the problem appears again, you can re-open the case. Regards, Jiri

Thanks, hope it will work. I meant the same thing as you -- is there a command (like "set logging to 1.2.3.4") to set the syslog server to exactly this value? I.e. if the current is 3.3.3.3 then running "set logging to 1.1.1.1, 2.2.2.2" would configure these two and remove 3.3.3.3. Just an idea... Jiri

Hi RichardLetts, We plan to fix the problem with the indexing/search in the next release. However, such big configs will probably cause other issues in the UI. Regards, Jiri
-
Yes, it should. Give it a try. Jiri

Hi, We plan to include this feature in the next release. I recommend you to take a look at NCM 7.4 Beta -- Network Configuration Manager v7.4 Beta2 is Available! Regards, Jiri
-
No, unfortunately you can't do it for the chart.

Hi ttl, Sorry to hear you have problems with KSS installation. As I replied earlier, the .NET is not required because of the web access but because of the core Syslog components (licensing). As far as we have investigated, this issue happens on Windows 2008 R2. We plan to improve the installation workflow in the future.…

Glad to hear that it helped. Taking your suggestion into account for future development. Jiri

Hi, This looks like a complex issue. I don't think you can resolve it on thwack. I would ask the salesperson to involve engineering to help you with the problem. Regards, Jiri
-
Hi Mikio, Please open a support case then. Regards, Jiri
-
Hi, From certain angle you can say that you are losing a poller; on the other hand, this integrated deployment with NCM on a separate server was only supported because of historical reasons from times when NCM didn't support additional pollers. NCM now scales in the same way as other Orion products and the engineering…

Hi jambo1967, Can you please post you support ticket #? And also the "official" statement about 90 %? Thanks, Jiri, SolarWinds Product Manager
-
Hi Karel, As I understand, this is not CatTools-related, in fact; My colleague specialized in licensing will reach out to you. Regards, Jiri
-
Yes. This issue is fixed in NCM 7.4.1. Please see the release notes: SolarWinds Network Configuration Manager v7.4.1 Release Notes. Jiri

Hi, Could you please perform the following check on the devices with problems? Log in to the device (e.g. via Putty) and check the first four lines of the config. If none of the first four lines starts with “:”, “!”, “#”, or “config {”, then it's a known problem introduced in NCM 7.4.1 -- we are going to release a hotfix…

It's there: SolarWinds Network Configuration Manager 7.3.2 Release Notes -> Installing or Upgrading this Version -> Upgrading to SolarWinds NCM 7.3 -> fourth bullet point. Jiri

I'm really glad to hear that. If you need anything else, feel free to ask. Jiri

Hi, The long-term plans for NCM include moving entirely to the Web UI. At the same time, we are trying to improve the usability and speed of the Web console. (These are not empty words, you can believe me.) So, who is interested in helping us improve the Web UI by spending some time on call with me? This is an actual…
-
Unfortunately not. But this is a frequent request, so I'll take a look what we can do here. Jiri
-
Hi scotthill, Have you found the cause of the discrepancy? Thanks, Jiri
-
Hi NetEng33, What version of NCM and NPM do you have? Regards, Jiri
-
Hi sja, Do I understand you correctly that you are interested in being notified of certain changes while not interested in others? Jiri
-
Just to be sure: Does the account have the right NCM role? Settings -> User Accounts -> Manage Accounts
-
You can specify e.g. username and password prompts in case NCM can't auto-detect them properly. I suggest that you start with Cisco IOS device template (look into NCM install folder for "DeviceType" subfolder) and modify it accordingly. Jiri
-
Hi, That depends on how complicated the script is. If it's only a fixed set of commands, you can use the Execute Script functionality. Here you enter the same commands you would enter when connecting to the device directly (over ssh/telnet). The commands are not interpreted by NCM in any way, they are just sent to the…

I think what John means is this: Regards, Jiri
-
Jon, have you updated inventory for your devices? Sorry for the delay. Regards, Jiri
-
Can't think of any but maybe someone else has ideas how to make NCM reports look fancy enough . Jiri
-
Oh, I see. Don't know off the top of my head -- let me find out. Jiri

The tool used by NCM is our SFTP/SCP free tool. It can handle SFTP but NCM cannot. That's for the case when the transfer goes through NCM. If you e.g. execute an SFTP command on the device using NCM, then the device may communicate with the SFTP server. Please share more details. Jiri
