If you are not interested in the backup at all, you can create a new device template, point e.g. running config to /etc/hosts and use indirect config download (TFTP or SCP) -- see the thread in my previous answer.

The one referred above (Alcatel 7210-M-1.3.6.1.4.1.6527.6.2.1.2.2.1.ConfigMgmt-Commands) should work for your devices.
