  • Evidently I don't understand the effort it takes to implement this, i just see that it's so easy to do in ipMonitor. When you add a device with mutliple monitors, the PING monitor of the device gets added as a dependency for the monitors by default. you can then add as many dependencies to the device as you want. I know…
  • Oops, my bad... I just noticed that this was for ipMonitor, I'm looking to do this in APM. It helps to pay attention... :-)
  • Web site began unresponsive, wasn't able to do anything. Actually got an 'out of memory message' when trying to refresh a page. should have taken a screen shot... :-( Logged on to the server and saw that the process was using up about 1.2 GB of memory. Shut everything down with Orion Service Manager, brought everything…
  • I do believe this is what I am looking for. In the mean time, I will try to work with the maps as the other replies are mentioning. thanks for your help!
  • Right that I actually try it, this doesn't work. I've added to a summary view, but it doesn't refresh to show real time stats. not sure if I'm doing something wrong.
  • Perfect, that's exactly what I was looking for. thanks!
  • Any chance you could let me know what the answer is? That would be awesome!

By creating this dependency, the status of the server goes to UNREACHABLE, while the status of the switch goes to DOWN. You do this via Manage Dependencies in the admin page.
  • Starting to see the same problem on our system. Running NPM 10.1.1 SLX. Any update on this?
  • A simple alert for what you need. In the example shown, i've set up an alert with the following parameters: * Looks to see that the custom property "Function" is equal to "File & Print Servers"; * Looks to see that it is a Tier 1 server (we have our f&p servers broken down into 3 tiers); * Volume Type is Fixed Disk, as…
  • I'm looking for exactly the same thing. Any luck in getting information?
  • If we're talking about groups, one thing i would like to see is being able to customize your views based on groups. That would be really helpful for me.
  • I'm looking to do the same thing. I can set the view limitation to only show a certain group, but every node still shows up.
