Have you seen this?: Orion Platform 2018.2 Improvements - Chapter Two - Intelligent Mapping This is included in the NPM, NTA, and NCM RCs that are currently out.
-
Yes, we support many Aruba wifi systems. You can even see Aruba APs on our online demo: http://oriondemo.solarwinds.com/Orion/Wireless/WirelessSummary.aspx . Change the Show dropdown at the top to "Access Points" and change the "Group By" drop down at the left to "Vendor" then select "Aruba".

NTM v2.2 includes new icons and custom icon import. See: Network Topology Mapper (NTM) 2.2 Now Available! I'm marking this feature request as implemented!
-
wluther would those changes make it so that you didn't need this feature request? Are they a more direct solution or a less direct solution?
-
Got it. Makes sense. Do these sites have POE? AC? DC only?
-
I've looked into this case. The issue is well documented and tracked but we are not actively working on the issue. I see where both a specific developer and a specific support agent said that we would release it in a future release. That was definitely a mistake. I apologize. I've contacted both of their managers to go…

Between the new Orion Platform High Availability feature that monitors Orion services and covers failover plus the new Deployment Health view, I believe we've delivered this. If there are any components of this request that you want that are not covered, please open a specific FR for that. Marking as implemented!

Would using customer properties to set the group and using two different alerts to email based on the group set be a solution for this? If not, what's missing?
-
BTREMBLAY's response was applicable for NPM and other Orion based products, but not for NTM.

Regardless of whether the agent framework supports Linux or not, the NetPath plugin that does the probing would have to support Linux for NetPath to be installed on Linux devices. The upcoming SAM release certainly won't include that.

Speaking of fast pipe - I tested Internet at our booth: >800 mbps down and several hundred up. Cisco knows how to build networks, it seems!

It sounds like NTM is not a good match for your needs. I understand that, and I respect that you can make that decision better than anyone else. I do not think it is accurate to call NTM "abandoned" because it is supported, developed albeit at a reduced rate, and has a large user base.

UNDP can't be placed in PerfStack yet.
-
Can you help me understand this better? Do you have remote offices that do not have a Windows machine available?
-
Implemented in NPM 12.1, released 3/14/2017.
-
This feature request was delivered in NPM v12!
-
We call releases that fix bugs and do not introduce new features "Service Releases". Our last release, NPM 12.0.1, was a Service Release several months in the making. Also, although NPM 12.1 includes new features, you'll be happy to find out NPM 12.1 includes fixes for 84 bugs. Hope that helps, but I'll take your comment…

Nice to meet you nickzourdos!

Yeah it makes a big difference in environments with a lot of scalability engines. Thanks to serena and her team!

It sounds like you're expecting to have to deploy more agents than I would expect. A software probe must be installed only on the source machine, which must be a Windows machine. The nodes you transit and the destination service do not require any software. So, for example, in the screenshot in my post, the source is off…

Should we stop at importing CSV? Or would it be interesting to talk about importing directly from IPAM?
-
We're working on this!
-
More content and screenshots added to the original blog post!
-
Would this feature need to cover redundant Apple watch deployments (ie. left wrist and right wrist)?
-
I wouldn't say either of those are direct competitors, but they are related because they do some stuff with path. AppNeta's Pathview seems to focus on available bandwidth, with fairly simplistic path visualization and minimal data about gear in the path that you manage. It also requires inline deployment or a SPAN port…

Check out: Network Operations Management | Solarwinds NOM and NAM are new product offerings designed to make it easier to get broad monitoring coverage for your network. The key technical differences are: * Single installer to install monitoring covering performance, flow, device tracking, and VOIP monitoring. That's NOM.…

Not currently possible. Definitely a good idea though!

The root cause here was slow performance. We've chosen to attack that problem directly. NTM v2.2 includes dramatic performance improvements in this area. Specifically when dealing with all nodes on your map, in many cases we're seeing a 95%+ reduction in time it takes to perform actions like the ones you've described .…
