Of course there is also the bad ticket management system. We're using a customized salesforce management system right now, not set up for ticket management. Difficult to use, set to auto-open tickets based on alerts, but not auto-close. To the point where the people who solve problems don't want to use it, takes longer to…

Saw them singing happy birthday with the camera at an odd angle, but didn't hear any announcement? Maybe I joined late. Video seems to have cut off though...

Is it really 2016 already?

Clear your cookies? Sounds like the Cookie Monster on the Scientology Diet!! ;-)

Heck, I'd be happy with hotel and airfare for one!
-
Yea, I think its a mistake in the video actually. The second "email" in the first video has no "from" with a name, pretty sure that's the culprit....

It seems as if they totally dropped this feature once it was implemented. No further support of pretty much anything since then. I know that Cisco is #1 in market share in this arena, but Aruba is a pretty solid #2 still. I'd love to see this get implemented!!

Drives me nuts at this company. They seem perfectly happy with having red lights on our dashboards, not only that but in some instances red-lights are prevented from being on the main panel due to being filtered out.

I'd love to see it leverage the NCM credentials if available!

Agreed, I find myself using it quite a bit as I convert sites we just acquired in a merger, but it's PAINFUL to use! Problem is, there is no better option. I actually re-use an old saved discovery and "Edit" it, this at least allows my SNMP community(ies) to be saved for the first step. The next step I just skip over…

I'm just bummed that I didn't trigger one of the keyword blocks!! ;-) At least you can use this to prove that you aren't blocking discussions about competitors products!! *** Now I'm imagining some of the messages in the hidden test group that you have to test said keywords. Probably pretty funny!!

Bit off topic, but has anyone seen the trailers for "Nerve"? Looks like an interesting movie with an interesting premise. Movie addict, so I go and see most things!

Unfortunately I think some of it is Fortinet themselves. They don't really have great SNMP support, nor do they care. They just want you to use Fortimanager. So glad my new job isn't using them! PITA!!

I second the potential to either dynamically or somehow automatically add/group nodes based on their SNMP-location setting. I would also love to have a "default zoom" level you could set, right now we only have locations in the US and Canada, would be nice to have the initial zoom level set to there.

Am I missing something or does NPM still not support multiple VRFs on the Nexus 7K? Went into more detail here: NPM 12.3 not polling multiple VRFs on Nexus 7000? Have a feature request here:

I'll vote it up, but unless you have some really old switches running really old IOS, this doesn't matter all that much. The VLAN configuration is kept in the global config now. I think since the 12.1 or 12.2 days (maybe 10 years ago?). Even a 2950 switch running 12.1(22)EA14 seems to have VLANs in the global config...

jkump wrote: Well spoken. I applaud you. Would give you thwack points if I could! Always remember that you can give thwack points by mentioning a user jkump, or by liking their posts! Maybe you even get Thwack points when someone replies to you or quotes you, not sure on that! Just maybe not enough as they deserve!!

Yea, was listening to some firefighters when I was volunteering to help care for pets at the evac center for the Dog Head fire a couple months ago. They were talking about how they had seen a drone and how it would prevent pilots from doing their jobs, which could threaten lives. Never heard much more about it, so I assume…

Resist! Don't go to the Dark Side!!

Big difference IMHO. You could still have a working cassette tape player somewhere, or find one at a garage sale. Heck, they still have tapes and players for sale on Amazon. Not to mention I'm guessing tons of cars still have them. With something like the Narrative Clip or Revolv you essentially have a paperweight unless…

Well, you learn something for one. Plus they're kind of fun to test your knowledge. Plus, while there is no way to have stuff shipped internationally now, there is no guarantee that they won't have this option in the future. No guarantee they will though either! And if you ever visit the US in the future, just make…

DVD? Not Blu-Ray?! Of course the real question might be, who doesn't already own a set!! Of course the DVD set could be a present for someone else, and the robe is very cool!!

I forgot to put in GNS3! Great for prototyping things... :-)

Agreed! At my current job many things are done simply because they've always been done that way. Drives me nuts, if there is a better way of doing things, you should start doing it for new things and go back and retro-fit older installations if possible. Trying to steer a ship that is driven by momentum is driven by…

Interesting, you can't reply to a specific comment, only to the message I think. @"bmallon" Four hundred thousand points?! That's a lot!! :-) I think what went on is the points shown are for the Thwack store, not total points for all time. ie: You're probably 40,000 points short because you spent them in the past. ie: I…

Or maybe we should just bump this up through proper channels and inform - The Spanish Inquisition!!!

Yea, I've been a "Network Analyst", "Network Engineer", "Senior Network Engineer", "Network Administrator", "Network Guru" and most recently "Network Professional IV". The job title doesn't always reflect much. When I worked for one large company, pretty much anyone that worked with a computer or something similar was a…

Yea, I'm a bit confused too! Heck, the apple/orange analogy makes more sense than the question to me!!

At some point there has to be an inherent level of trust for the people you work with and especially your administrators. If you start trying to guard against every possible problem, you will go crazy. That being said, you should also make sure your staff is being vigilant about watching for anomalies, possibly rewarding…

What, we have to >see< each other, in person?! Maybe I can unregister if I act quickly!! '
