Congrats everyone!

Dang! Missed Part 1 of the monthly mission. I got to tighten up!

A fluke shirt! I am going to have to budget for those next year. The cable tester I bought last year was $15,000, so the shirts are probably around $400-500 a piece...with government discount they would be around...say $1,500 a shirt.

These are great certs to have. I believe that even a CISO or someone in that capacity to hold a heavy cert or two so they understand what goes on at the security and operation level.

I voted. +1 . I like the dark themes. I appeals to my cave dwelling lifestyle.

I am glad this month is DPA. I am working on trying to see the benefit in us having this. Thanks!

Yep pretty hilarious!

What's Up Gold for that quick up/down on network interfaces. I find it a little more responsive that creating a map and monitoring using NPM's Atlas. Wireshark for deep packed inspection. We also have Cisco NAMs and Cisco Prime Infrastructure that overlaps with a lot of the functionality of what NPM does.

Same here. I have touched it once or twice. I am doing some tweaks to our environment, so when I have completed that then I will play with Perfstack a little more. I will share my experience with the thwack community.

Cups full of single malt scotch instead of beer. That is going to be a short tournament!

One question down! These are some nice prizes.

This is the path that is shows up - the installation path for SEM Plugin Output: The following vulnerable instances of Java are installed on the remote host : Path : C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ContegoSPOP\jre6.3.1.hotfix5\bin\java.exe Installed version : 1.8.0_131 Fixed version : 1.6.0_161 / 1.7.0_151 / 1.8.0_141

SUCCESS! I killed the OpenJDK process and it made it past the failure point. It did fail again at another spot but the configuration wizard told me that I needed to delete the local SQL account that the database uses. After that, everything has been working like a champ! Customer Service just called me and I let them know…

We are getting hit with some vulnerabilities with Java and SEM 6.7.0 agent. Would it be safe to upgrade Java or is it going to break our clients. Will the latest agent fix (when it comes out) resolve any Java issues. This is the vulnerability that is coming up. Oracle Java SE 1.7.x < 1.7.0_211 / 1.8.x < 1.8.0_201 / 1.11.x…

jpetkevich Thanks. I went ahead and voted. I will work on the policy reports as well. Good stuff! When I get the reports up and running, can it generate a compiled report - sort of like a vulnerability assessment report?

Agree. You can think of it as a tool inside of SAM. It is built in, but like mprobus stated, you will need other tools in order to unlock its full potential. For example, I monitor our Exchange environment pretty closely with Appstack. This is how some of the products we run fit together for that "single pane of glass".…

Thanks jrouviere. I will check it out and post what I find.

The picture is a little off because I have the display charts formatted so they are easily viewable from our large displays and I am working on a 19" monitor right now. We have one large team that handles all server and network functions, so it was optimal for us to create separate pages and scroll thru each one. I have…

aLTeReGo, kacperm Yes I do have a ticket open and uploaded the diagonstics zip file as well as a list of my Web Front End and Db server OS and SQL Builds. The ticket # is 00346796. Hopefully this helps! Cole

Here is one I use in a NOC view. I have the overall status of our regions on a US map and then when you click on them they bring up a Visio picture of the region's physical rack. We do not have IT people that sit in the regions so this is so we can explain to someone what to reboot if needed as well as provide a high level…

Great conference in DC. The demos were interesting and helped me to gather some ideas on better monitoring of our network.

Reference a ticket I put in : "00358517 Some subnets freeze while loading" Apparently this is a known bug that a fairly simple fix. Thank you for contacting SolarWinds Technical Support. There is a known issue at the moment with how IPAM is bringing in user login data from UDT which is why it isn't affecting your WANs as…
